We have the same refrigerator and the alarm drives my wife nuts when she is stocking the frig. Furthermore, when the door is just slightly ajar, the alarm doesn't even sound.
Is there a way to disable the alarm. Please be a specific as possible.

It depends on the model you have.  Look on the door panel and look for the control button that shuts off the alarm.  Press and hold the button 5 to 10 seconds and that should shut it off.  If you don't have that feature, then there's nothing to disable the alarm.

What do we do about a Westinghouse , vituoso where the freezer alarm keeps going off despite an expert checking and finding the fridge/freezer working perfectly well? Can the alarm be disabled?

The alarm is nothing more than a buzzer or light mechanism that is triggered by some sensor. . Disconnecting the wiring going to alarm will disable it.

My frigidaire gallery refrigerator model number DGUS2645LF3 is showing an error code "5b" and nothing inside works.

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

You are in the Sabbath Mode.

The Sabbath Mode is a feature that disables portions of the refrigerator and its controls in accordance with observance of the weekly Sabbath and religious holidays within the Orthodox Jewish community.
Sabbath Mode is turned ON and OFF by pressing and holding "?" on freezer temp and "?" on refrigerator temp for five seconds. The display shows "Sb" while in Sabbath mode.
In the Sabbath Mode, the High Temp alarm is active for health reasons. If a high temperature alarm is activated during this time, for example due to a door left ajar, the alarm will sound intermittently for about 10 minutes. The alarm will then silence on its own and a red high temperature icon will display. The high temp icon will continue to display, even if the door is closed, until the Sabbath mode is exited and the icon reset. The refrigerator will function normally once the door is closed, without any violation of the Sabbath/Holidays.
If this does not solve the problem you have a bad control board.

How do I disable or remove door alarm?

The alarm is operated by a magnetic switch connected to the control board. If you can find it you can bridge it out if it's a make switch, or disconnect it from the board if it's a break switch. Find the control board and the connection first. ***WARNING*** the switch also operates the internal fans and removal of the feature will increase your power bill and make the fans run permanently. Does the alarm come on as soon as the door is opened?

Electrolux EI26SS55GSO power failure alarm; how to disable

Hi Randy - The power failure alarm can't be complete disable, but you can try resetting it by pressing the ALARM OFF icon. Other modes may be turned off until the alarm is acknowledged. The power fail alert is turned off and the refrigerator should resume normal operation. However, if the alarm continues to go off after you have unplugged or flipped the household circuit breaker for 30 seconds contact a professional to have the main control board diagnosed.

Buttons on door beep when pushed no activity no ice no water

If the door alarm button is not working, try pressing and holding the door alarm button for several seconds to enter the preferences mode, the preference name will come up on the freezer display, use the freezer +/- buttons to get the alarm(al) preference the use the refrigerator +/- to change the setting to off, this should disable the alarm.

Try this (if you haven't already) -
Unplug the refrigerator for an hour to see if the board will reset.
If not, Maytag has had few problems with the boards on some of these.

The only other thing is to replace the thermistor and its in the freezer behind the back panel. The cost of this part is around $10 and is easily available from local appliance parts dealer near you or online.

Be advised that, as we are not there, we cannot be 100% sure . I gave you the most probable causes i have seen.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

What do the codes on the front panel mean... Like LL and AL?

Alarm (AL)
When the Alarm mode is off, all audible alarms will be
disabled until the feature is turned on.

Auto Light Level Selection (LL)
This setting adjusts the light level at which the
dispenser light will illuminate when the sensor detects
that the light levels in the room are low. Setting 1 is
the darkest light level setting, setting 9 is the brightest
light level setting. Important: The Auto Light must be
activated on the ice and water dispenser control to
take advantage of this option.

Sabbath Mode (SAb)
When the Sabbath Mode is on, all control lights,
interior lights, and the night light will be disabled until
the feature is turned off. Press the Door Alarm pad
for three seconds to restore the lights.

I want to disconnect annoying "door open" beeper on my Kenmore

Of course you can disable the alarm - depending if you're handy or not.
If you remove the main PCB ASSEMBLY, you can de-solder the piezo making the noise and remove it from the board.
Be careful - however - as this is a $215 controller board :D
