It sounds like the transmission has failed, turn the washer on it side and see if u see any broken parts, if not the damage is internal and will require the replacement of the transmission assembly, this is a very expensive job and unless the washer is less than 5 years old I would suggest u just replace the washer.

There is grease coming from uner the washing machine and it makes a loud noise when it is spinning? Sometimes the washing machine will get hung up on the spin cycle?

Oil usually from the leaking transmission. a clutch not engaging might make a noise but u will get no real spin and clothes remain wet? if it was bad motor coupler if u have direct drive u would also have no spin or wash cycle. I suspect a bearing prob withing the tranny SORRYYYYYYYY :(

My LG Front Load washing machine is making a grinding noise on spin cycle I believe it is coming from the motor

Hello. The noise you are hearing on spin is a failed basket support bearing. Depending on the model, you are looking at a cost of a professional to repair it of around $400+. If you do it yourself, around $200. This is a common failure on LG washers.

Sounds like the clutch is malfunctioning. Not an easy DIY job -- probably need a service call.

Spin cycle not engaging the tub to spin

HI, Could you get me a model # so I can see exactly what machine you have? If it is a Whirlpool brand, it could be the coupler.
Please let me know so I can assist you further.

Kenmore 20722 Series 70 top loader. Makes a load, intermittent banging noise as the tub attempts to spin. The tub seems to engage intermittently, too.

Check the vibration dampers are solid and the mounts good. Also the springs on the bottom of the drum.

Starter makes weird noise dosent turn over

Starter drive not engaging fully . Sticky or worn, but don't think changing thermostat had anything to do with it. Try having starter drive inspected & lubed if possible , but you may end up with new starter.

Washing machine

it could be the break above the transmission. it engages what looks like break shoes when the machine is not spinning. if these are worn down to the rivets then it will make this noise. it requires a special tool to replace.0de7df9.jpg
