The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

How do I transfer pictures from SD card to computer

you could use an external memory card reader, or you could install the easy share software that came with your camera on a disk, or download it from Kodak (after registering your camera) here:
KODAK Support
After you installed (and only then) you can connect the camera and the software will allow you not only to down load the pictures, you also can manage them with the software in folders and so on.

Pictures won't download to computer from Kodak z981

Did you install Kodak Picture Easy Software already?
To transfer pictures from your camera to the computer, you need this software (and the driver that comes with it)
If you done't have the software, try to get it with Kodak, or use an external memory card reader, to transfer the pictures from the memory card to the computer. That must work.

Www kodak com go support

To be able to transfer pictures from the camera to the computer, you need the Kodak software that came with the camera. Sometimes you still can download the software when you go to the site of the camera producer. Not sure it will work with Kodak too. Only when you have installed the software to the computer, the camera will be able to communicate with the computer.
If you don't have the CD and can't download the software, you only can use an external memory card reader, to put the pictures on the computer.

Cannot get memory card to read

If you want to see what is on the card, while you connected the camera to a PC, with an USB cable, you first should install the software that came with the camera (on CD). On the CD with the Kodak Picture Easy Software, there are also the drivers, if your computer not already did install them.
In the manual this are the first lines. on top of page 1.
link to manual
If you don't have the software, and forgot to register your camera I think you can't download the software anymore. But you could use an external card reader on your PC, to transfer the pictures.

I have a Kodak EasyShare Z981 camera. It says my internal memory is full. What do I do?

You have to transfer the pictures and videos in the internal memory to your computer. For this you have to download and install Kodak software on your computer.

( Make sure the computer is connected to the Internet. When you connect the camera to the computer, the KODAK Software Downloader automatically runs. Follow the prompts to download and install KODAK Software.)

Please follow the steps below to connect your camera to your computer;
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Use the KODAK Camera USB Cable, U-8 to connect camera to computer. (Use only the cable included with this camera!)
3. Turn on the camera.
After the software is installed, follow the prompts to transfer pictures and videos to your computer.

* If the downloader does not run, find and launch it:
• WINDOWS OS: in My Computer
• MAC OS: on your Desktop

Note: You can use the Memory card to save the pictures and videos taken on your camera. In this case you can also use a card reader to transfer your pictures/videos.This prevents the user from connecting the camera every time to transfer data.Eject the memory card and insert it into the card reader.

Please feel free to ask your doubts. Thanks for choosing Fixya.Your valuable feedback would be appreciated.

I am trying to download photos to my pc. All plugged in the the Device Connected box ins blank. Any ideas - its driving me nuts!

OK, when I use my Kodak Easy share cameras on a fresh computer that hasn't downloaded Kodak pictures before I do the following:

Load Easyshare software onto the machine, and install it.

Then, I connect the camera to the computer.

Then, I open the Easyshare software and it may ask a few questions.

Next, I watch the computer (Windows 7) as it loads the proper driver for my camera.

Finally, I click on transfer pictures and I am set with my pictures.

The pictures should show up in the Start Menu's picture under Kodak Pictures.

You should be done.

Let me know how it works out with the Easyshare software downloaded to the computer before trying to load pictures on to the computer.

Problem downloading photos from camera to computor

KODAK EASYSHARE Software is only compatible with KODAK EASYSHARE C-, CD-, CW-, CX-, DX-, LS-, M-, P-, V-, and Z-Series Digital Cameras; and DC4800 Digital Cameras. If you have one of these camera models, go to the Step-by-Step Solutions and Repair tool to help resolve this problem.

If you have one of the other digital cameras, you cannot use KODAK EASYSHARE Software to transfer pictures to your computer. Use the software that came with your digital camera to transfer the pictures to the computer. When your pictures are on the computer, you can use EASYSHARE Software to edit, share, and print your pictures. Hope it helps you.

Downloading pictures.

Did it come with the software disk? If it didn't you can go to the Kodak website and download the software. This is the site for the tutorial on your camera: http://www.kodak.com/global/plugins/acrobat/en/service/manuals/urg00239/CX7330_GLB_en.pdf and here is the site for the software: http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=11467&pq-locale=en_US.
I've found that other software will work on occasion with my Kodak but Kodak's is the best. I would install the easyshare software then after that plug in your camera to allow the computer to recognize it.
