Question about Dryers

1 Answer

I have KitchenAid dryer M# KGHS02RWH2 when you press the power button it doesn't power up. I changed the control 3 times P# 8546219. Each time it works for a day or two and then stops. I also changed the thermister and the sensor. What can be my problem?

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that you have done everything apart from replacing the Thermal fuse. This fuse is located on the blower wheel cover and is mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. To check it test for continuity between its two pins no continuity means that it has to be replaced. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

The Child Lock feature is activated and it can be deactivated by pressing and holding the DRY LEVEL button for 3 seconds or until the CL display is cleared.

Indicate the exact model number of the dryer if the control panel doesn't look like the one shown above or if no button with the small "PRESS & HOLD 3 SEC TO SET CHILD LOCK" (DRY LEVEL) marking is found.

Control lock on

To enable the Control Locked feature when dryer is
running:
Press and hold the CYCLE END SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.
The control is locked when a single beep is heard and the Control
Locked status light is on.
When the dryer is off, it is not necessary to press the Control
On button before activating the Control Locked feature.
To unlock:
Press and hold the CYCLE END SIGNAL button for 3 seconds to
turn this feature off.
NOTE: When the dryer is running and Control Locked is on, the
dryer can be stopped by pressing the Off button, but can’t be
restarted until the control is unlocked.

Dryer has power, dim control leds, will not run most of the time.

Same problem here. I replaced the machine control electronics p/n 8546219 and got 12 months service out of it before it returned to what you are describing above. I even replaced all the LED's on the board and that did not do a thing. I can tell you that this will be the last whirlpool appliance that will ever enter my home. Simply overpriced garbage!
