Hi,
That would be a regulator problem, assuming that the gas tank ain't almost shot...
Get a new regulator and that will get you that burger...

you could have a bad switch behind the knob or the knob isn't turning it off, pull off the knob and see if the metal clip that holds the knob on tight didn't slide up on the shaft,if it did pull it off with a needlenose plyers and stick it back into the knob, next time send the model number and if it's gas or electric

Viking gas grill - when I turn the knobs to lite up one of the burners, it rushes out the gas with a loud hessing sound. also there are flame coming out from where the gas comes out and goes into the...

What you have described sounds like a clogged burner as well as the venturi valve on the burner. Your will need to remove the burner to clean it and the venturi valve on the open end of the burner, that goes over the burner orifice. Spiders like to build nest in them and clog them up. The venturi valve will look like two slots, cut in to each side of the burner, at the open end. It's function is to mix air with the gas, for proper combustion.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!!

I have. A 40 gal. 40,0000 btu natural gas , how do u lite the pilot light

Access is at the bottom of the water heater. There is a little cover you will have to take off. Look for the gas valve. (its where the gas will come in to the water heater) Follow the two lines that come off he bottom of the valve. They will lead you to the burner (big line) and the pilot(smaller line). The pilot is what you are looking for.
1. locate the pilot (it will be 8" or so in to the water heater)(right next to the burner)
2. Turn knob on top of gas valve to "pilot"
3. Push down the knob on top of the valve that you just turned to "pilot" or there may be a lever right next to the knob on some models
4.with a long fireplace match or bar b que lighter, while holding the knob down, reach your lighter to the pilot assembly. you may smell a little gas.
5. The pilot will light, do not let go of the knob for 30-45 seconds
6. After a few seconds let go of the knob and turn it to "on"
7. Check your thermostat make sure it is not on "vacation" and turn it up to see if the burner ignites.
You are ready for hot water if all works. Hope this helps you, have a good day.

I have a brevis buffalo central heating unit . It does not have a series number so I think it is an older one. I have not used one before. I am trying to find the pilot light to light but I don't know...

Well there is a first time for everything. If you notice there is a pipe coming into the unit and a big usually grey box with a red or white knob on it. This is the Gas valve you have to turn the knob to "pilot" position and either hold the knob or the button next to the knob down in order to get gas to go to the pilot. You will also notice a small pipe coming out of the gas with a copper tube running with it follow it to the end and this is you pilot and themal coupel. That is where you will lite the pilot. You will have to hold the knob or button down for about 1 minute after you light it then turn the knob to the "on" position. Make sure that you replace all the doors as some have safety switches and the unit should work.

Gas does not flow when you turn on gas knob when you turn on the gas valve on the tank and then turn the knob for gas to get to the grill, just before you hit the ignighter no gas comes out

make sure there isn't a designated burner for lighting. sometimes there will only be 1 burner the grill will light. start with all them off, turn on the tank. the grill will have a little picture of a flame next to the burner knob. turn it to high and try lighting

3 of 4 knobs do not compress to turn on gas

You must replace those controls. Cleaning or loosening them up would be temporary at best and the next time they stick it could be in the open position. Safety first...Eric

Oven wont come obut igniter works

Yes, it could be the knob or the oven control.

If the knob fits tightly to the control, and turns the stem of the control, then I would be suspect of the control. But if the knob fits loosely, I would be suspect of the knob.

Oven

Hey ascollins217
This is normal with a gas range. The oven is lit with an ignitor (the glowing that is seen) - it glows first then the gas comes on and lights up shortly afterwards. There is no clicking sound for the oven (at least not for the model you have)
