Tv is on when plugged in but doesnt respond to any button inputs.shows "snow" on the screen but nothing more. Model is 42wp48a toshiba 42 inch plasma.

This is a display device or monitor only. It lacks a tuner, so there is no way to connect an antenna and tune off air TV channels - and as such; fails the definition of a TV. A TV by very definition is a monitor AND a tuner. Without the optional "RTB421 RCA Terminal Board" installed in the monitor, it can only accept a PC Input signal (VGA).

If the RTB421 is installed, you will be able to choose from PC, Video, S-Video and RGB signals. The full details on this RTB421 Terminal Board and how to connect source video devices for playback is explained on pages 32 through 35 of the manual.

If the RTB421 is installed, and connected to a source video device (Cable TV converter, Satellite Tuner, Blu Ray player, DVD, VCR, etc.) as shown in the manual, you should be able to scroll through the inputs by pressing the Input button on the monitor or remote (make sure the batteries are fresh). Keep the lower left bezel of the monitor clear of obstructions that can block the infrared (IR) remote receiver window.

I hope this helps and good luck! Please rate my reply - thank you.

I have a mitsubishi black dimond vcr id like to tune into a sharp tv how do i do this please

Ok, to hook it up to use as a Receiver, and TV, as a "Monitor". Using the antenna cable, plug this into the antenna IN socket on VCR. Now connect up, AV, using the Yellow, Video, Audio, is Red & White, on BOTH TV & Video. Now select an EXTERNAL INPUT on the TV. Now You Tune, and scan for "Channels" using the VCR. Find each channel, and save, now, you use the VCR remote to change channels, and the TV, is used as a "Display Monitor".
The Other way, is to just use the VCR as a "Recorder only, you plug the antenna, into the TV, now at rear of TV, you have a Video OUT, Yellow, and Stereo, Audio OUT, Red & White. Connect up the VCR to the TV using them. Now anything you View on TV, will be out put to the VCR, when you wish to record, simply press record, on Remote/VCR as desired. and it will record.

Connected the wires-red, white and yellow into every possible place I could think of on the tv and vcr and nothing happened. What could I possibly be doing wrong.

  1. connect from the VCR a/v output to the yellow red and white to the receiver Video 1 input.
  2. connect Video Monitor Out on the receiver to a yellow video input on the TV. (if there are several note which input you are using 1,2,3...)
  3. select video 1 on the receiver
  4. select the proper input on the tv
  5. play a video on the VCR.
  6. If still no video on tv connect the yellow dircetly to the TV from the vcr.

Can't see "Setup" screen, or any other screens on t.v. monitor

There should be a tv vcr button on the remote control. What you done was you accidently shut off the VCR function. If you hit that button again the tv vcr button it will come back on.

Cant hook dvd/vcr to my cable box the manual says I need a extern

The cable box IS an external tuner.  You should connect the video output (either S video, HDMI, or component video) of the cable box to the video input of the DVD.  Then connect the audio output of the cable box to the audio input of the DVD via stereo RCA cables.  If your tv monitor has multiple inputs (ie: video 1, 2, and 3...) connect the video and audio output of the DVD to your tv monitor using an alternate video input (if cable box goes into your tv thru video 1, connect the DVD to video 2).  If your cable box only has one output, or your tv has only one input, then just connect your cable box to the DVD as above, and connect the DVD to your tv.

How do L set up the converter with a TV , a vcr and "Dish" satte

It sounds like you need a three way splitter.
You need to reverse the connections; the splitter has input and out. Hook exterior antenna, converter box, and satellite to the three side terminals (out). Hook the single sided terminal to VCR input. Connect the VCR out to the TV input. This configuration assumes that you will be using the VCR to record from all inputs. The TV has to be set to channel 3 to act as a monitor for your other devices.
Hope this solves your dilemma.

HOW DO I CONNECT MAGNAVOX DVD/ VCR TO VIZIO FLAT SCREEN

Is simply. get the audio/vido cables and look on the back of the TV and connect from the audio video outputs from the combo to the audio video inputs on the tv. remember the colors of the terminals and connect them that matches the red, white (audio) and the yellow (video). Using the remote locate the button "input" or "source", and select video 1 or 2, depending where you connected it.
