Just download the latest driver for your operating system HERE
and reinstall the driver. Once you've done that, reconnect the mouse and hopefully, it should work. If it does, it would be that the mouse is kaput and you may have to replace it. If it is under warranty, just take it back to the point of purchase and get it replaced. If not, you may have to purchase a new one. But do try the latest driver download first and see...
Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here. Please do not assign a rating until you feel your problem is resolved. I will try my best to help you further if need be.

SOURCE: Mouse battery
Surely you used the Logitech Connect Utility (if relevant,) or if you have sync buttons on the transponder connected to the PC and the mouse, pressed those? That's the usual method in the manual.... You could doublecheck that someone at your house (office?) didn't just put dead batteries back in the pack and not make a note of it.

If the mouse doesn't have a little door to open on the
bottom, then try this. Just behind the Left and Right keys where your
hand rests, apply firm pressure down on the cover and slide to the rear.
Some mouse manufactures have used this type of access to replace the batteries.
Hope this helps. Bud
