Question about PC Laptops
I have a Dell Inspiron 1420, and the other day I was on the internet, and I don't know if I pushed a button or something, but now a lot of the pictured that are supposed to be black have turned green and pixelated. I tried restarting my computer, and that didn't help. Also when I restarted the computer before it went to the Windows page it was entirely green too. Any ideas?
You can find diagrams to remove the keyboard (the video cable is under this keyboard).
First remove the battery and unplug the computer (after you shut it down ofcourse). Then tilt the screen all the way back to give you the most room to work with.
See where your media and power buttons are? on the very right of that piece there should be a notch. You can fit a screw driver (flat head) in here and pry the piece off. Don't worry it's supposed to do this. Slowly pull it out from right to left.
Under this piece you should see two screws above your keyboard. Remove these and TILT the keyboard up. Dont move it too far, we don't need or want to detach the keyboard. (Also be very careful with the keys, they can pop out.
Under the keyboard on the left will be a blue tag that is attached to your video cable. Pull the cable out and and plug it back in pressing firmly and evenly when reattaching it. Put the computer back together and you should be good!
