The rotor is attached to the crank via taperlock. You must remove the rotor bolt which goes thru the rear bearing. Then take a 3 LB. rubber or deadblow hammer and sharply strike the rotor on the laminations. not the winding. You usually have to do this several times from both sides before it breaks the taperlock free, Use force behind your hammer swing, It will eventually come off. Have patience.

It certainly sounds like you have damaged the control board. If you cranked it with reverse polarity, there is a good chance that you have rotor winding damage also. If not you still may have to flash the rotor windings to ensure a correct polarized field. That involves hooking a battery for a couple of seconds to the rotor brushes (with correct polarity) with rotor brush wires disconnected. Only do this if there is no output voltage after you replace the control boards. Bad mistake :)

Subaru rgx3600 generator only producing 5volts

Sir take out the stator assembly from the engine and clean it properly from inside with cotten cloth moist with gasoline and then clean the roter while fixing it back mind the gap between the rotor and stator sometimes there is dirt or other material sucked inside the alternator which diaturbs the megnetic poles as a result the stator does not produce enough charge for exsitation

Have a portacable generator. model BS1550 w Runs

Breakers could be bad, but no power to all the plugs, including the 240vac plug indicates something else going on. Either residual magnetism has been lost (has it been a while since it been ran?) and needs to be flashed, capacitor or diodes in regulator are bad, or there has been damage to the rotor or stator. There could also be a problem with the brushes on the rotor as well.

Also, if engine is turning too slow, the alternator may not kick in as well. Make sure that you are turning either 1800 or 3600 RPM, though it is a little hard to do this without electrical output. You might try playing with the governor while a lamp with a sacrificial incandescent bulb is in it. If the engine speeds up, and the bulb lights, then governor needs to be adjusted.
