My Samsung dryer DV218AEWXAA is not coming on. There are no lights on the dryer. We recently had the heating element replaced. What could be wrong with it?

Is ther power at the outlet? If yes, try unplugging dryer and plugging it back in. If that doesn't work, try unplugging and plugging back in while holding down power button. Good luck.

Hi I have a dryer model # GLEQ215ES1 The dryer will run proper if I turn the heat off, but when heat is on it only runs for about 10 minutes and shuts off and all the lights on the right side blink.. Any...

It sounds like the hi-limit thermostat. For your dryer that would be Frigidaire part number 5303281113 shown below. The part is located behind the drum. You will need to take the back off of the unit to access the part. Sears carries the part.
  1. Take the back cover off of the dryer
  2. locate the part
  3. unplug one of the two wires from the old part
  4. plug that wire into the same post on the new part
  5. unplug the remaining wire from the old part
  6. plug the other wire into the new part
  7. unfasten and remove the old thermostat (with no wires)
  8. fasten the new part (with wires) into the old parts place
  9. run the dryer to see if the fix works
  10. replace the back cover on the dryer.
Steps 3 through 6 above insures that you get the two wires installed correctly. ddmagee57.jpg

I have a Bosch nextt 500 series dryer and after 2 years of use the problem I have is the heat will shut off and the dryer will keep running and I have to press the reset button on the backside of the dryer

Open the front panel, remove heat exchanger and clean. also clean out lint tray. this might help a little. Now lets check if the thermal sensor or heating element needs to be replaced.
Unplug the dryer. remove the panel in the back of the dryer that covers the heating element. ( the inner panel). On top of the heating element you will see a thermal sensor with a small red button on it. Thats the manual reset button. To test if the heating element is working properly you can disconnect the wires from the sensor and clip the connectors together . Plug the dryer back in and start it. pay attention to the heating element. It should begin to glow shortly. if it doesn't then your heating element is bad and needs to be replaced.

Unplug the dryer. Connect the wires back to the thermal sensor. Plug the dryer back in. Before you start the dryer, press the red button on the thermal sensor. Start the dryer. If the heating element doesn't come on and dryer doesn't heat, then you need to replace that sensor.

I am not getting any heat from my dryer. I checked the two thermostats and the heating element with an ohm meter and they show continuity, but the thermal cutoff does not. Is it suppose to or is there...

easiest way to eliminate the thermal fuse is to bypass it and see if the dryer heats up for testing purposes only as this is a safety feature and left bypassed will cause a fire. unplug dryer, disconnect the two wires and tape them together, plug dryer back in and start, if it is the fuse you will have heat. Good Luck Tim

Dryer is not heating up

First Check for the correct voltage 220volts The dryer will run with only 110 reset the Braker.
You will not get heat with only 110 volts NOW Unplug the dryer . NOw you must take the dryer apart from the front most dryer. look you the heating elements some are in the back arown the back of the drum others are on the left on the bottom Not sure of your dryer model. Look for brakes
In the coils if the seem ok. Then check the Hi-limit Thermostat with volt meter or ohm meter.
I think its best to check all the Thermostats and the Thermal fuse. then you don't have to go back
Over then again HOPE THIS HELPS ALWAYS UNPLUG THE DRYER, SAFETY FIRST

If the dryer worked before replacing the heating element .

Thermal fuse
On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.

If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse to put the dryer back into operation. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.)This I would check first....Good luck Hope this helps you out

Heating element gone in our kenmore dryer

Hi, Without having a model # so I can see the exact dry style you have, This is how to get to the most popular style element. UNPLUG the dryer! Remove the rear panel of the dryer and locate the element on the right hand side. Plug the dryer back in and test to see if there is 240V going to the element posts. If there is voltage, but no heat, change the element. If it does not, you need to test the thermostats for continuity. If any of the thermostats are open, replace it. I hope this helps you.
Please let me know if this help or if I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic
