Sounds like your fuel lines have broken or hardened and aren't reaching the fuel when the level falls. Replace both (or 3) fuel lines (one at a time) and don't forget to put the pickup filter back on. You can get the lines at your local mower repair shop for less than $5 for the 2 foot of line that it takes to replace all lines.

Yes you should be able to replace the rubber tank seal that the fuel line goes through. Be sure to replace the fuel line(s) when you do.

Trying to start weedeater. Starts but wont continue running. we just replaced the fuelines need to know how far down the blue line should be in the tank.the olds ones were dry rotted so we re not sure if...

There should have been a fuel filter attached to the fuel line. So when installing quite tricky, put line in tank, place filter on end of line while in the tank, let filter lay flat on bottom of the tank.
In those carbaretors there are gaskets and a diaphram. After awile they ware out and the diaphram which is rubber gets hard, so it will no longer pump fuel. You can buy everything for the cab in a kit. I hope this helps you.

Recommend completely draining the fuel system. Tank, lines, and carb. Make sure everything is clean and dry. Clean or replace fuel filter. Always try to store it with a full tank of fuel. It is common to get condensation when the weather goes from warm to cold and back.

Gas weedeater wont start

assuming weedeater brand weed eater, the carb. has a filter screen, that blocks and does not allow the pump to push sufficient fuel. A phillips head screw on the side of the carburettor secures a square plate, remove the screw and plate and gently brush the screen clean, dirt collects on the visible side.
Dirty foam filters if fitted change the fuel mixture and make it too rich to run.
and the fuel mixture knob, although secured by a tension spring, moves and may need to be readjusted
