Hi!
Please try the following:
1) Take a look at the memory card; on it's left side there's a little switch. Make sure it's it the UPPER position.
2) If still the same, use a card reader/adapter to connect the card to a computer. Try copying it's contents and/or format it again.

If none of the above worked for you, I afraid it sounds like your card has gone... Some special store MAY be able to save your data/photos from it, but unfortunately, nothing is 100% guaranteed!

Best regards abd good luck,
Pelu.

First get the card from the camera and insert it in a card reader or in a laptop with card reader and get all the pictures from the card to save them ..
after that be sure that the card is not locked from the locking slide that it placed on the right side of the card ..than clean the contacts with some alcohol based solution ..(it might as well be a perfume or anything with an alcohol base..) and insert it again in the camera with care ..agin ..and again until will recognize it ...if it asks for format it ..it means that it has an error but the card is seen ..so if you saved the pictures you can try to format it ..if it do not want to in the camera ..try to format it in teh card reader ...by right click on the removable disk in the my computer folder..than choose format ..click on quick ...and select fat 32...and go for it ..
after that try again to see if you get rid of the files from the card that caused the error ..cause sometimes if you use the card and have files that the camera is not able to read this can also cause card errors..

if the card reader in the laptop do not see the card either this means that the card itself it is damaged and if you will not be able to make it readable again the pictures are lost ...I suggested to clean the contacts cause sometime oxidation make them behave bizarre and this might be a case.....but what you need to do is see if you can fin a position in which to make the card seen and take at least the photos from it ..
Anyway if after all these it still can not read it..it means the card is dead for some reason ..

Another thing ...try it in another laptop also ..cause it may be the case when the card reader in the laptop is not installed..-I mean the driver is missing for some reason ..

Hi how do i formatt my camera card

From page 63 in the manual.

Format

Internal memory format : Remove the SD memory card to format the internal memory.

SD memory card format : Insert the SD memory card to format the SD memory card.

All the files in the memory are deleted by the [FORMAT] function.

Before formatting the memory, it is advisable to copy important data onto other media as back-up

e.g. floppy disks, hard disks, CD etc.

1. Turn the camera power on.

2. Select the PLAY mode by rotating the mode dial.

3. Do not turn the LCD monitor off.

4. Press the MENU button to display the menu on the LCD

monitor.

5. Press the UP( )/ DOWN( ) button and select [DELETE].

6. Press the SET( ) button and the sub menu will display.

7. Select [FORMAT] by pressing the UP( )/DOWN( ) button

and press the SET( ) button

8. Select [NO] or [YES] and press the SET( ) button.

[Selecting NO] : The image will be displayed on the

LCD monitor.

[Selecting YES] : A [PLEASE WAIT!] message is

displayed and all of images are
deleted.

My Samsung Digimax A7 camera will not load memory cards. I insert a card and then turn on the device, which prompts a format for the card then I hit yes, the camera thinks for awhile then just turns off. ...

The Digimax A7 may not be compatible with "High Capacity" SD Cards (SDHC). If this is the case you will need to locate an SD card that is 2GB or less in size as anything larger than this is a high capacity card.

If you've downloaded all the pictures from the card, format it in the camera. This should solve the problem.

The A7 uses SD cards, which max out at 2GB. It will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.

Format error

The reason why is because that particular camera does not support memory cards that big.  Samsung only guarantees compatability up to 512MB, but the max I have ever heard working is 1GB.  If you do buy one, make sure it is a sandisk card as these have been tested and guaranteed to work in that camera.  Lexar may also work, but for sure 4GB is to big and is unsupported.  Hope it helps.  Please dont forget to rate!
