Question about Traxxas Rc Revo Nitro Monster Truck

1 Answer

If my Revo 3.3 is tuned correctly, should I be able to make it do a wheelie under full acceleration? I just got one, and the manual said it is possible but the local guy at the RC store said he couldn't get his to do one, until he put in an engine larger than the 3.3cc.

The problem is that it's 4 wheel drive. You can make it do wheelie's all day if you disconnect the front driveshaft.

I have purchased FZ in Nov 2009.I have all my services on i am facing problem in chain set.Service dealer told me that this part dont cover under warrenty...plz do some help.

The dealer is correct. Sorry. A chain is like the brake pads. Used gently they will last longer than with rough usage. The dealer has no control over how you ride the bike. Drag race starts, wheelies and sudden acceleration puts extreme stress on a chain. No wonder it can wear out early. Just get a new chain and avoid the major stress things you can do to the chain. Keep it oiled and adjusted and it will last much longer. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

My revo 2.5 will shift/not shift

I am not sure on the Revo, but the shift point on a T Maxx is adjustable. There is a small rubber plug on the transmission that you remove and you adjust it with an allen wrench. If you have a manual for the truck it will have a section in it that shows you how to do it.

2002 R1 engine slips on high RPM

From the sounds of your riding style (wheelies, etc.) you have burnt out the clutch.
No matter how much fun you think it is, Yamaha never designed them to be a toy to do wheelies. It is a sportsbike designed to go round corners fast.
The only silver lining is, hopefully the cost of replacing the clutch will stop you riding like a fool in future.

Clutch slips

Hello, wheelies mm not good for your gearbox or clutch, 1st off is the gearbox working OK, does it jump out of 2nd gear under hard acceleration? then we can move on from this point,

Wheels spinning when starting

The problem is your clutch not the slipper clutch but your clutch that is against your flywheel on the engige,What has happened is that the spring that goes around the clutch shoes has broken or came loose. That causes the clutch shoes to not disengage from the slipper and transmission, therefore when you start the truck it wants to drive forward usually it wont run or idle unless you apply the throttle. Sometimes it will stick in second gear and when you start it you give it throttle to keep it running and it takes off in second at a low idle.To solve this remove the engine and the clutch and i bet you will find that the spring is broke or came off.

If your slipper clutch needs adjusted usually you will apply throttle and all that happens is that your engine rebs up and the truck wont go forward unless you really reb it up and that is not good on the engine.

When revos are 2-3 weeks old it is common for the slipper to need adjusted a 1/4 to 1/2 turn, traxxas keeps them adjusted really loose from the factory that is why a lot of people have trouble trying to pull i wheelie with a revo.

Wide open throttle on RSV

Don't worry - this isn't a squid's how can I wheelie thread. I was enjoying a pleasant ride around some back roads on Saturday and decided to push the RSV harder than I typically do. So in 2nd gear at about 4000 rpm I twist the throttle wide open and the bike accelerates like mad up to about 9,000 rpm, but without even a hint of a power wheelie. Same result going a little slower to begin with, same result going a little faster to begin with. Same result in 3rd gear. (I didn't try it in 1st gear - too scared). Is this typical? I was under the impression that most 1000cc sportbikes were happy to get the front wheel off the ground in the lower gears. Or is that just 4 cylinder bikes? (Not that I'm in the market for a bike that wheelies - I'm happy that the RSV seems so happy to accelerate quickly without getting scary).,Its is a worlwide conspiracy. All dynanometer operators are in on it. The Rotax must be putting out so large numbers that the Japanese manufacturers are silencing those in the know! Not sure why yours does not wheelie. Mine does really easily, although I have a full dual exhaust, power commander, renegade airbox, early Mille air funnel and Tuono bars, yoke and risers. So mine should wheelie. I would still expect yours to lift the wheel in at least first gear. Maybe you need to get out there and spank its little arse in first gear, then report back.,,,
