We had water in the basement thought it didn't get the may tag epic wet but now we have anF11 code. Will it dry or just a coincidence?

if washer was still wet when you tried it , its probably a gonner ,as F11 Is the "catch all" fault code maytag uses when its lost all communication in the control board , as I allways tell folks in this situation , if an appliance gets wet UNPLUG it right away , and move it to a dry place or use fans to blow air onto it for several days/hours ,maybe it could be saved , but once you power it up and water (that is a conductor) gets the power to go everywhere then most times Its a total rebuild then as power in the wrong place damages a lot of stuff

The brush turns very little and can be totally stopped or not moving. If it does move it can be easily stopped with a finger. I checked the belt and it seems to be fine.

Hi learnspirit...
Either you belt has streached or you roller has worn down causing this problem...
I would replace the belt...it is cheaper

Brush is not moving...not sure if it's the belt...anyway to find out how the belt should be installed?

Most likely it is the belt. Check to see if the belt is broken or the teeth have worn off. Here is the belt you need and the manual:

Hi Diana.

Your Dyson has A clutch this has 2 belts, One goes clutch to motor the second goes clutch to brush roller.

You have either A snapped motor to clutch belt or the clutch control knob is not rotating to drive position when you pull the handle back to clean carpets.

Firstly check the control knob this is situated on the front lower left hand side of machine.
EG if your machine is silver & yellow the knob will be yellow approx 2" or 5cm in diameter as I said ensure it moves from off or park to drive if it doesnt move rotate it by hand when you have lowered the handle to vac carpet.

If still no brush roller drive you will need to strip machine down to remove the clutch & gain acces to the belts.

Its A lot of work to explain so try this site http://dysonmanuals.llc.nu/ for clutch removing manual can send via email very quickly.
