same problem after taking laptop with me on vacation and trying to connect with wireless network i Florida.

Is the Wireless Network Adapter turned on? Most laptops have a small switch near the Wireless Network Adapter's light that turns it on and off so people can't gain access to a laptop wirelessly during travel or whenever it won't be used.
