All of a sudden the airconditioner started filling up with water and the fan blades started spraying water out of where the air comes out. The unit is draining from the back.

Try cleaning out from under The evaporator (front) coils towards the back so the water can drain underneath the front coils towards the back
Make sure the unit is tilted a little towards the back
Clean drain hole in back too.

Think theres mildow or mold in unit from last year, how can i clean unit out

First, pull-out your a/c unit. Open the electrical control and remove the wiring connections of your fan motor and the compressor. Separate the electrical control and make sure you have the wiring diagram for termination. Unscrew all panels to remove the fan motor, blower, and fan blade from the unit base. You have to move the evaporator farther but be careful with the pipes. After removing the panels, fan motor, fan, and blower wash the coils with water using pressurized water. Spray coil cleaner to remove excess dirt from the coils and wait until all dirt come out. make sure the chemical is not too strong to eat the aluminum fins. Wash and rinse thoroughly the coils to remove any chemicals left in the unit.Clean the panels, fan, blower, and motor.Oil bush type motor. Then assemble fixing the panels, blower, motor, fan blade panel, and fan blade. Screw all parts and rewire the unit.

We have an in wall air conditioner. I am not sure of the model #, but recently it has started spraying a fine mist back into the room. I removed the front of the unit this morning and found that the foam...

You could have a pin hole in your refrigeration line. The mist is probably the refrigerant coming out. Check the coil very carefully to see signs af any breaks. You may also have a bad drainage and the water is accumilating inside the unit. The fan blades can throw the water against the filter. Look inside for standing water. Good luck!

Our unit is making loud clicking noise and spraying water when in the cooling air condition mode, but not when the fan is on. What could be the problem, and is it fixable?

you may hear water splashing that is because it is coming off of the condenser the part that is outside the water runs off the condenser and is forced out by the fan for as the noise could be something in or on the inside fan blade or outside fan blade as long as the water is not coming inside your house and you have enough slope on the unit you should be ok

I have a 1400 btu portable air conditioner ( AMANA ) and the fan is broken, how to replace it.

Obviously, you will have to disassemble part of the cabinet to access the fan blade. Removig the blade should not be difficult. If it's the fan motor, than that may be a challenge. However, since you did not furnish the Model Number of your AC Unit, there's not much more I can tell you, other than where to find the part(s) you'll need. Try Factory Appliance Parts http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/airconditioners/amana/amana-motors-and-blades.html You'll definitely need the correct Model Number of your unit, to search for the part(s) you'll need.

Hope this helped you.

MY SHARP AF120FX ALSO DOESNT DRAIN AND THERE APPEARS TO BE NO DRAIN HOLE AND THE UNIT HAS ALWAYS BEEN ON AN ANGLE. THE UNIT FILLED WITH BLACK MOLD ON THE STYRO FOAM INSIDE TOP OF UNIT SO I SPRAYED IT WITH...

Hi,
Many newer units are made to retain the water and splash it onto the condenser coil... Clorox in the water will kill the mold and not hurt anything... You can carefully drill a hole if you want..

Airconditioner suddenly stopped blowing cold air while I was driving--blows warm air now

you can get a recharge kit at Auto Zone, the car has to be runnung to fill it. . This is the first thing I would do, to see if it's out of freeon first.

Ask the Auto zone man to come out side and help you refill it. They will help if you ask.

It is probably freezing up and then thawing. Try cleaning the filters and running it at a higher temperature for a while. If it goes away then you are finished. If it does not go away you may need to bring it to a service center to have the refrigerant levels checked.

Troubleshooting airconditioners

CLEAN IT
take the case off.
look at all the filth in the back fins.
get that out without puncturing anything
or cutting your fingers, or breaking the fan, etc.

Use a hose and MIST spray.. a hard spray will bend the fins
Use 2 dull hacksw blades to straighten fins if many squashed.

Bonus: find the oil hole caps on motor, open, add oil (10w30 fine)
Reassemble.

Of course this wont work for punctured units, dead motors, compressors, etc.. but filt is your #1 A/C killer.

Get cleaning! Do it once a year, before it gets hot.
