Question about Toro Garden

Open Question

I need to know the correct sequence for dismantleing a Toro Consumer 71282, 17-44hxl riding lawn tractor. The part that I broke while trying to disassemble the tower assembly is the brass rod-tower pivot part # 100-7401. The rod has two 5/8" cap nuts protruding on the outside of the tower. When I attempted to put 2 wrenches on either end, the rod-tower pivot part just snapped. Is that the correct sequence to remove the bar and I just have too much corrosion freezing the nuts? How much of the steering wheel etc do I need to remove in order to remove the tower? Thanks

SOURCE: front wheels of our riding lawn mower

Most front ends for riding lawn mowers, need to be greased. In addition to this, most of the rims for the front tires, have a nipple for a grease gun, which also need to be lubricated.

SOURCE: How do I remove the steering wheel from a TORO

It will either have a roll pin on the underside of the wheel, or under the decal in the center of the wheel (which should pry off with a small flat screwdriver) it will be held on by a nut.

SOURCE: John deere 68 riding mower steering column won't

Just had same problem with my craftsmen. There is a very inadequate little nylon bushing supposed to keep that shaft stable. When worn out it allows that shaft to move and puts the gears in a bind. It is located on the end closest to arced gear where shaft hooks to drag link. Its a pain.

Blades won't engage on my toro ss 5000 zero turn mower

for any ride on machine that the blades don't engage id start at looking at occupancy seat switch , these are most times the culprits then if that's ok I move on to the actual engage switch and then on to clutch as last element

don't forget that past 2013 mfg machines operator must be in seat and weight over 80 lbs , the clutch pedal must be depressed and transmission not in reverse to engage the blades on a consumer grade lawn tractor (thank the CSB for that )

Pull cord wont retract on my toro self propelled lawn mower

Sounds like a spring problem. Remove starter shroud, try pulling it and see if it works. If the spring isn't broke you may have to take another rap on the rope to gain more tension, or spray mechanism with some wd to free it up.
