Question about Plumbing

1 Answer

I have a Flotec FPSC1725X-02 Submersible Sump/Utility pump. It sucked itself down into the mud and stopped working. Now when I use it, it pumps for a while and thgen quits even though the motor is still running. Any ideas?

It's possible that there is a rock or group of rocks that can't get through the impeller and so it will pump for a moment and then the rocks get bound up and block the opening, not allowing water to pass until it is turned off and the rocks have a chance to settle. The only thing you can do is open the case and look for some type of blockage.

Just did that after reading your message. I ran water through it and shook out a few tiny rocks, but nothing substantial. The impeller moves freely with no issues. When plugging it in to make sure the impeller turns it is blowing the GFI breaker in the outlet.

HOW TO TURN ON PUMP??

The pump should start by itself and shut off by itself as well. The float switch needs replacing. If new, return it. If you want to test the pump, separate the two plugs and plug in the one that leads to the main pump body.

My dog chewed the power cord off my FPOS1800A-08 submersible pump, From whom do I order a new cord.

After searching, a clear answer was found ... if the cord replacement exists, it costs a lot.

That being said, flotec FPOS thermoplastic sump pumps have pdf parts list.
Parts list shows cord as replacement part.

However, I don't see the FPOS1800 listed

Pumb only pumps a small amount out of the basin. Float needs adjusting to go all the way down and empty the basin. How do you adjust the float/bulb to travel farther down without shutting off after only a...

Flotec website shows several submersible sump pumps, and pump types:
http://www.flotecpump.com/asp/productapplication.asp?AId=28

Click product, then click on 'parts and literature' to access manual
Here is a Flotec manual:
http://www.flotecpump.com/pdf/FP525%2811-1-06%29.PDF

Manual for this type of sump pump says:
Quote from manual: Automatic float switch is sealed and factory adjusted for
most home sumps. Turn-on water level is 10" - 12" above
pump base. Turn-off water level is 4" - 6".

The manual also says that running the pump when dry will ruin the seals.
This implies that the water level setting is set so the seals will not be damaged

You might be able to dig the sump deeper, but I don't know if that meets your objective.
