Hi, welcome to FixYa. Based on what you've described, "Door lock is engaged.Washer locked up.Final spin light is on.Loud hum, no movement "...you need a door lock/switch assembly. It is likely the single most common fault (which prevent's any spin, and consiquently drenching wet clothing at the end of the cycle) with the frigidaire/electrolux built washer's, aside from pump's being obstructed. I think it fool's many people because the lock indicates it is energized on the panel, however the built in "monitor" switch inside the assembly fail's. I do see a lot of these particular machine's...unfortunately. You should be able to purchase one at most local brick & mortar stores or on-line part's depot's such as "searspartsdirect.com" "repairclininc.com" to name a couple. They usually sell for about $50 or so, part # 1531974 ( # at repairclinic.com ) and are relatively easy to replace. It should resemble the image here... Door lock is engaged.
Washer locked - 6332bc3.jpg As for replacing said switch, There are a couple ways to access it, through the top and squeezing your arm down the front or the way I prefer, remove the front bellows spring/retainer.

1) **unplug the washer from the wall...safety first of course.**

2) Reomve the spring, get it started where the spring is located with a small screwdriver. Once you`ve got the spring/retainer off ( it comes off and on pretty easy by hand ) pull the gasket/bellows back away from the cabinet.

3) Undo the two screws holding the switch to the cabinet, pull the switch out ( there is just enough slack in the wires so don`t pull too hard ) and swap the wires from the old assembly to the new one and you`re in business.

4) To put it back together, just reverse the removal procedure. The trickiest part is the retainer. Rap the retainer around the boot leaving the spring for the last...and make sure the spring is located at the 6 o`clock position...usually. Just wherever it was initially.

Let me know if you need further assistance going forward or if my instructions are not clear.
P.S.
There is a slim chance of a faulty motor or motor control board, but that would not be where I would direct you to start...those are exceptions rather than the rule.
Thank you for visiting "fixya" today. Good luck. macmarkus :)

    Hi,

Sorry about my post, I`m not sure what happened to the structure/format, it showed up this way after I sent it.

Let me know if any of it is unclear. I think it may have something to do with some of the changes they`ve made here recently at FixYa as we experts don`t have as many tools to work with for our documents any longer for some reason ?!

    Thank`s again.

Why won't my washer start a cycle? Start button LED just flashes. All other lights are steady. Door lock sounds like it engaged, but nothing happens.

There should be a way to enter the washing machine into service mode to view an error code. Check your user manual and then you should have your answer!

Final spin

Hello Matt, I am happy to assist you!

I understand your Frigidaire washer will not complete a final spin. Often it is because either your washer cannot properly drain and dispose of the water and detergent solution. Does your washer making a humming noise? If so, the drainage hose/pump may be clogged and needs to be cleaned. If not, your washer may possibly be experiencing an issue with the door lock assembly, faulty pump, timer or control board not communicating correctly. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I would personally contact a professional to accurately diagnose the washer to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.

Best of luck!

Frigidaire frfw3700lw0 drains but not spinning

Hello ctilton2001 - This particular issue can be caused by quite a few reasons. Washer could be experiencing a communication error from the main control board, faulty door lock assembly or the timer itself is not operating correctly. Did you notice a humming noise? If so, either the drainage hose/pump is clogged and needs to be cleaned or could possibly have another issue with the door lock assembly. You can also press and hold the start/pause and cancel button together at the same time for approximately 30 seconds to display an error code on the LED. What error code does it display? However, I would suggest contacting a professional to accurately diagnose the washer.

Wont go into final spin

The final spin on this model requires an additional lock from the computer to the door. Remove upper rear panel and look at board. Find the tiny resistor that says R-11. If it's burnt looking the board and the wax motor (at the lock) need replaced

Control lock light will not go off.

Do you have any error codes?

Does water remain in the washer after the final spin?
If water remains in the washer after the final spin, then the door will not unlock. Drain/Spin or Spin Only to remove any remaining water from the washer. The door should unlock at the end of the cycle.
Is the door locked and the Add A Garment light on?
If the Add A Garment light is on, then the washer door will unlock after the Pause/Cancel button is pressed once. Pressing the Start button will restart the washer at the same point where it left off in the cycle.
Is the door locked and the Add A Garment light off?
If the Add A Garment light is off, then the washer door will unlock after the Pause/Cancel button is pressed twice. The door will not immediately unlock while the cycle is running due to a possible high-water level in the washer, high-water temperature, tumbling or spinning. It may take up to five minutes for the washer to stop spinning and draining before the door will unlock. You will hear the door click when it unlocks.
If Pause/Cancel does not work:
  1. Unplug washer or disconnect power for one minute.
  2. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.
NOTE: If the error remains on the display, call for service.
