The control switch may be bad on it. If there are 2 elements on the top, they both are not bad at the same time.Check to see if the wires have not burned off the control switch first. Check to see if your breakers are O.K. Turn them both(maybe 3) off and then reset.

Tricity double oven

Hi Les. We had a tower oven with three ovens! One oven we constantly used had the element distort, and it had to be replaced.
Most likely the element is on its way out. If you have a multimeter, you can check the voltage supplying the element.
You will need to find the make, model number, and maybe the serial number of the oven to progress.
The details may be inside the oven door or on the rear of the oven. Do a google search, and you should be able to find replacement elements, and a local supplier of original parts or aftermarket replacements.

My old Jenn-Air W230 wall oven only gets to "warm" in the bake position - even at a temperature setting at 500 degrees. However the broil function works well. Could the problem be a bad thermostat o

the oven sensor could be bad,its a small rod inside the oven cavity near the top,or you could have a bake element with a "hot-spot" in it that can no longer pass enough current to properly heat the oven to the correct temperature setting(most elements with a hot spot will show a discolored area on the element where its been overly hot)this is the "hot-spot" it will soon break apart there

Hotpoint oven won't heat above 250 degrees broiler works fine as well as the stove top

either its the oven sensor rod located at the top of the ovens cavity,or your bake element could be getting a hot spot which is when it gets a discolored spot in the element and can no longer pass sufficient current to heat the oven past 250 degrees

My GE built-in oven is not heating up right away. The oven and broiler elements do not get red hot even if turned up to 500 and/or broil. As a guess it doesn't exceed 300 degrees. This is only...

Hello,

It could indeed be the elements that are the problem if the elements are bad generally you will see a section of it that looks different than the rest(kinda looks like textured stucco if bad) if that isn't the case the elements must be tested to see if the proper power is going to them, you could do that by TURNING OFF POWER AT THE CIRCUIT BREAKER unscrew the element from the back wall of oven and pull element out about 6 inches out, attach a voltage meter set to measure at least 240 volts ac to the two wires, turn on breaker set oven to back and check for 240 vac to element. If 240 vac at element replace element if 240 vac not present the thermostat,or selector switch is bad not providing the 240 vac to element

Good luck,i hope this helps

Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. This indicates oven temperature sensor circuit failure. To resolve this issue you'll have to check the oven temp. sensor circuit if the reading is more then 1100ohms then it should be replaced however, if the rating is fine then it is the Electronic Range Control (ERC) that has gone bad & should be replaced. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

find an appliance parts outlet and give them the model number and tell them you need a new oven thermocouple, you maybe able to just replace the thermocouple,or you may need to replace both due to being connected together

Hello- This is a brand new model, but it works the same as the rest. Heat is produced by the elements. The fan has an element that glows when heating the air. --Convection oven glass gets hotter than normal fanless models.-- This is all normal operation of the oven.  To ensure full life of oven, avoid using the 'self-clean' feature. Techs call this the 'self-destruct' cycle. Please reply to this post if info is helpful- have more if needed- Thanks- Ed

My oven still doesnt work after replacing heating element

it could either be a hot spot in the element where it can no longer pass all the current needed for proper operation in heating(look for a discolored spot on it,it may be whitish and dimpled from heat) or secondly,it could be the oven thermocouple located on the inside top of the oven cavity
