Open Question

I was trying to add a channel to my Kenwood TK270 G radio and I have pushed some wrong buttons and all I have now when I turn it on says "UNPROG" .How can I remove this and get back to my 100 + frequencies and does anyone know the proper sequence to add additional frequencies>I get into the programming by holding the light button and the solid circle button at the same time while turning it on ,then i hold until "SELF" and "POTABLE" appear..after that I have lost the sequence. Any help would be appreciated Thanks

I am trying to add Sirius radio on my kenwood DNX572BH MODEL. SIRRUS IS TELLING ME I NEED A RADIO ID number. I cannot locate it since the device is installed

The Radio ID can be found by tuning the radio to channel 0. It is also on the Sirius XM Connect tuner and the packaging for the XM Connect. You can directly tune the radio to a channel by pressing the Up arrow on the control screen. Next look at the bottom left corner of the screen for an icon with 3 rows and columns. Touch this icon. Enter the channel you need and press Enter. See page 68 of the manual for the DNX572BH (page 69 of the PDF). This manual is available from the support page for the Receiver: http://www.kenwood.com/usa/car/navigation_multimedia/dnx572bh/support.html?model=DNX572BH . The direct link to the manual in English is http://manual.kenwood.com/files/IM386_Ref_K_En_01.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Just bought a new Kenwood 2400 to add to the other 2300 radios and I can't get them to communicate even though they are both on channel 1 which should be the same frequency! Help!

The 2300 is Vhf and the 2400 is Uhf. They cannot talk to each other. Not a programming issue, the wrong radio band and it cannot be changed.

My radio will receive transmissions but will not transmit. It just beps and flashes redlight on top

Hi Kevin,

Beeps and flashes, well my radio does that only if I try to transmit while someone else is using the airwaves already. the radio tells me the Channel is in use, so you can't get on the air until the channel is clear.

Sometimes, some nasty person(s), will hold down their PTT button without saying anything thus blocking the channel with what is known as a 'CARRIER' signal.

Is this the reason you're not making it on air?

I hope this has resolved the issue, if so, nothing wrong with your radio.

Cheers,
Peter

I cannot change channels. I push the "Menu" button

Here is a link to the user guide http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/T59xx_User_Manual_E.pdf It might be possible you have the keypad locked, refer to page 20. If this is not the problem, you might have a bad/low battery, or you may have a more serious radio issue.

Best regards.

TK 3100, No communication, codes check out OK

Try one of the side buttons to see if you can hear squelch noise. If so, hold it in then talk on an existing unit. If you can hear it, then the squelch code is wrong, if you still can't hear it, then the frequency is wrong or the unit is defective.

On my two channel radio a blinking green light means that it is scanning between the two channels. I can turn off the scanning and the light stops blinking.
