I tried opening the web page with www.opera.com/mobile but it didn't open. The message on the screen is "It cannot find server or DNS Error Internet Explorer.

  • pastor_gslut Aug 27, 2010

I did as directed and when I launch it, the screen said I quote: " Setup failed. The file mini5wm.cab is not a valid Windows CE Setup file. "

Maybe there is a firewall on the laptop that is blocking the traffic or the wireless router isn't correctly configured (the ports - especially 80 - are closed).
To test that you must install another browser and try to connect with it. Best there is for your OS

Use another pc, the one you use isn't properly connected to the internet - the DNS server (the one that translates the names of the sites with their actual address) isn't accessible.

Go to this direct address in the pc you are using right now
    http://m.opera.com/mini5wm.cab?act=dl&am...
and download (as in Save, not Run ) the installer for the browser to a USB stick. Plug the stick in your laptop and launch it.

In that case the processor in your netbook isn't x86 compatible and in that case all the soft on it is customized to this hardware. You can't install nothing regular on it. If you want you could try the Java version - if you have it already in.

Otherwise you must check the settings of the router to which your device is connected

Cannot get connected to the internet, even on the lap top

Hard question to answer. Do you use a personal wifi to connect, a shared wifi or a ethernet connection? Usually you can go to "Network Diagnostics" in your Utilities folder and run a test. That should walk you through and help you find out why you're not getting a connection...

My friend gave me a windows embedded ce 6.0 netbook, how do I log in onto my wifi?

Select Connections from the tabs across the bottom. Select WiFi. Find your own wifi from the list of available networks (SSIDs) and select and hold it. Then select Connect. In the next screen, make sure The Internet is selected and click Next. On the Configure Network Authentication screen, make sure Authentication is set to Open and Data Encryption is Disabled and click Next. On the next screen, click Finish. This will bring you back to the Configure Wireless Networks screen. Wait a few moments while your phone connects. Once complete, the status will display as Connected. Click ok from the top right section of the screen then close the Settings window with the x in the top-right section of the screen. Once you've joined a WiFi network manually, your smartphone automatically joins it whenever the network is in range. If more than one previously used network is in range, your pc joins the one last used.

I have just bought a Google Android Tablet 7 inch and we are having trouble connecting WIFI. We've connected a different tablet and my daughters ipod touch with no problems as well as many lap to

True to the above.. also if you have tried to connect several times you may want to delete the saved Wi-Fi connections an start again. Example.. Open Wi-Fi connections and find for network. If you already have it saved, click"forget" then retype your credentials.

Hello. I have the 7 inch Sylvania netbook and the WiFi internet is not working. I've connected it to my home WiFi internet and it has good signal and everything but when i click on Internet Explorer it...

Google "digital gadgets.com". There find "Sylvania Products". Then click on "7 inch netbook support" and follow directions.
For item # 5, you may have to call your Internet Service Provider (Charter, AT&T or whoever you pay for your internet in order to get your "network keys" fill that in and then click "OK".

Next be sure you go to "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", "Internet Options", "General" and complete "user agent (requires browser restart" by selecting:
"Default (same as windows XP)" or
"Same As Pocket PC" or
"Windows CE".

I selected "default" and was off and running.

Although this isn't a "lap-top" it is a really neat little machine and does a lot of stuff almost like one. It should be great for travel! It is a little slow and has small memory, but it's inexpensive and usb/sd ports are onboard. A regular universal mouse helps-just plug it into a USB port. I'm doing internet, movies, word processing, etc like everything and I think a lot of people are way under-rating this fun little machine! -DKA-

I just recently received the sylvania 7 inch netbook as a gift. It comes with windows ce,im not familiar with using this hard wear and for some reason i cant connect to the internet via wifi what can i do?

Windows CE or windows embedded compact is an operating system for minimalistic computers and have minimal storage. My friend had also that notebook but she just browse the features of it and later on she learned how to use it. Windows CE is not a complicated software it's a simple program and easy to learn. Good Day!
