Question about Daewoo Microwave Ovens

Open Question

The microwave oven DAEWOO KOR-6L1BM 600w, work normal , but only when you connect the power cord after a lot of minutes, (sometimes hours) off of use. Then, after a few seconds appear the key board lock and don't let use any function, then, sometimes, after a few seconds appear other functions on display, in a random way, but still the keyboard lock, the only way to stop it, is unplugging the power cord. The only way to use the oven is once time following the next procedure: -after a lot of time without use and disconnected, we must connect the power cord and so quickly typing in the keyboard the function we want ,and as faster as possible, press start button. After that, the keyboard lock or block, donĀ“t receive any order but the owen complete normally the first task. I will thank you a lot for your help and guide. atte, oton anaya

SOURCE: Microwave shuts off after 3 seconds

Although your model number doesn't seem to show up, the NNS950-series units are powered by an high-voltage inverter. And yours has failed. While an inverter (switched-mode power supply) is more efficient from a power consumption standpoint, it is more complex, thus more statistically prone to fail. These should only be examined and worked on by someone who has the necessary technical qualifications. Seriously. Often the machine-soldered connections in a microwave inverter are too weak, so they eventually fail, especially if heat is high in the area. They sometimes fail catastrophically. When not catastrophically damaged, you may hear clicking or squealing and may smell an electrical odor, which is sometimes obscured by the cooling fan. Sometimes a whole new inverter is cheaper than the time and labor required to fix the old one. If a technician is willing and able to troubleshoot and repair the inverter to component level, it will may be expensive, but may be worth it, especially if he or she will resolder and reinforce connections as needed as part of a thorough repair. That could easily make your inverter beter than a new one! You might be able to get some verbal estimates if you call Panasonic-authorized appliance / microwave repair shops and ask then specifically about inverter component-level repair and simple inverter replacement costs for your exact model number.

SOURCE: Kitchenaid microwave oven KBMC140HSO

I started having the same problem with my KBMC140HSSO. You cannot see the error codes without disassembling the control panel (the codes are on another display that covered by the front panel). After doing so I found the error code to be F2, E3 which is "Key held down too long, or key shorted". I am ordering a replacement keypad and will report back if this fixes the problem.

SOURCE: How to change light Daewoo KOR - 63F7

If there's no obvious removable cover over the bulb (most often on the rear or side) and the owner's manual doesn't address it, then disassembly will be required.

You'll need to remove the outer cover (wrapper) to get to the bulb.

Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.

If it's an over the range type, remove the vent grille across the top and see if bulbs can be accessed there. There may be a panel on the bottom covering the light(s), instead.

If not, chances are you'll have to remove it from the wall, then remove the outer cover. If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

If you don't have your instructions, please reply back with your brand and model number.

Once it's out of the wall, the outer cover (wrapper) will need to be removed, just as you'll need to do on a counter top model.

On a counter top model, be sure it's unplugged, but otherwise ignore the instructions above this paragraph.

You'll need to remove the outer cover (wrapper) to get to the bulb.

See these links before proceeding:
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/safety.txt
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/disassembly.txt

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.

Bulbs can be had locally in most grocery stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, and big box or department stores.

Many models use halogen lamps. You must not touch halogen types with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

Possible that the panel or the processor is a suspect. You can remove the top cover and clean the panel and main board. If there is no result it is best to take a second opinion.

Not a problem. I just want to know where to find the wattage for the microwave oven. It is a KOR 1N0A

The Daewoo KOR-1N0A is rated at 1,000 Watts with a 1.1 cubic foot capacity. The manual and documentation are available from the Daewoo site: http://www.daewooelectronics.co.uk/daewoo-product.aspx?folderguid=0039D237-8626-41AE-9D67-8F347C0C3B26&listguid=D897DFDF-A16E-452A-BB1A-7544B98F24DD . The links for these are near the bottom ot the page. If the direct link doesn't work, start at http://www.daewooelectronics.co.uk/daewoo-products-details.aspx?folderguid=DD695DCA-E930-41AC-BD76-1F59753A64B1 and then search microwave and then the model.

I hope this helps.

Daewoo Microwave MT1510B will run for one minute or longer then stop for now apparent reason. It will stay off for 10-15 minutes then when it comes back on it is in spanish language. What is the issue?

Is it new???

If it is still under manufacturers warrenty, then take it back to where you bought it.

It appears to be a fault in the control chip. Not a lot can be done, it may be cheeper to buy a new one. Wallmart have cheep ones.

If this really is an 8-year-old 600W oven, then I would think it's really not worth putting time and money into... The technician in me hates to say that, but there are times when that's just the right answer...
