Question about Poulan 25cc 2-Cycle Gas Powered String Trimmer #P2500
In the center of the drum (where the drive cable goes) is a torx screw. Usually it is a size T15 or T20. You will need a way to lock down the cylinder. If you don't have a cylinder lock, remove the spark plug, lower the piston down, fill the chamber with a long piece of clean rope or tubing (leave some sticking out), then raise the piston to lock the cylinder. The screw in the drum turns counter-clockwise to remove. After you get the drum off, then you will need to remove the clutch. It also turns counter-clockwise to remove. Use large slip-joint pliers on the clutch. DO NOT REMOVE THE OUTER PART OR SPRINGS FROM THE CLUTCH. They are very tricky to get back on. With the clutch removed, the rest should be relatively easy.
