Question about Frigidaire Dryers
Sounds like your heating element has broken. Unplug from electricity. On the front of the dryer there are two clips that hold the top of the dryer to the front they can be tripped by inserting a flat blade screwdriver between the top and front panel apx 2 inches in from the side in the seam where the top and front come together. These clips are sprung steel and you have to push hard. (I usually give the screwdriver a sharp rap with a hammer) When you trip them you can lift the top up and backwards. Then about 12 inches down the inside front you will see a 5/16 nut that holds the front to the sides take them out. Then you can pull forward and lift the front off the machine. You will need to remove the belt you can look under the drum the belt goes thru two pullys one is a tensioner pop the belt off the tensioner and pay attention how the tensioner looks it may fall down and you will have to rehook it to put the belt back. I believe this model also has an access door at the tensioner and motor that gives closer access to the belt. Then you just lift the drum up and out of the dryer pull forward slightly before lifting up. The heating element will be exsposed in the back and the wire that was arching will be here. Remove the wires to the element and the mounting screws on the element pan. Unhook the Hi limit sensor on the pan and put it on the new one. Reinstall the element ect in reverse. The only problems you may run into is where the wires hook to the element can be hard to remove and unhooking the belt pay close attention to the tensioner and how the belt is attached to the tensioner and motor. This should only take you about 40 minutes to complete. I hope this helps
