How much R134a should I add to 2000 toyota? My a/c wont charge

Not sure I understand. R134a is the refrigerant. So what else are you adding? The best solution is to find the leak and repair it. Leaks will continually become worse. Your system may not hold anything anymore. However having to much refrigerant will overcharge the system and not allow it to cool. All systems hold different amounts, there should be a sticker under the hood that tells you how many pounds the system holds.

How to recharge auto A/c

You need a connector set, refrigeration guages and refrigerant (usually r134a). However if you are wanting to add refrigerant, you have a leak. Repair the leak first!!! If it is an older system the seals may have dried out and you can buy a can of rejuvenator on ebay which has a hose and connector already attached. It won't last long if you have a further leak though!

How do you add freon to a 1998 mercury sable and how much.

well first make sure what coolant you use r12 or r134a as they cant be mixed if r134a just buy a can with a gauge on it if its 75-80 outside add it till it between 40-45 psi if 85-90 add till 45-50 psi on gauge then stop add it to the low side that is the only side can will mount to on rt134a systems

if this was helpful please give me thumbs up

The amount of freon i need to put in my 1991 toyota corolla ?

well in that year they used r12 refrigerant ! today they use r134a refrigerant they are not interchangable if you have already converted to r134a they you can call toyota and ask for specific amount although you really dont need to know all you need is a can of r134a with a gauge on it if it
75-80 degrees outside the pressure should be between 40-45 pounds if its 85-90 degrees between 45-50 pounds on the low side were you add it so basiclly keep adding till those pressures are reached

please do not add r134a if you have not had system converted over from r12

Where is the low pressure port to fill ac

The low pressure port should be on the Accumulator, that's the silver cylinder that has the low side A/C line going in to it. You'll see the valve on the cylinder for you to add the R134a, do not aver fill the system. Safest way is to open and close the refill valve and let the A/C run for 2 min and see who cold the system is getting adding little at a time. To much R134a in the system will also give you poor A/C performance, to high of pressure in the system will shut down the compressor also.
Thank you for using fixya and when you think the air coming out of the vent is cold enough, stop charging the system.

Have a cold point BF 368 refrigerant R134a, the bulb inside the u

refrigerant r134a is the type of freon in the unit, not a model #. probably the wrong type bulb. you can't put a regular bulb in it. it has to be an appliance bulb. they have a thick coating on it to endure extreme temps.

A/C won't blow cold anymore

There is a leak somewhere or you didnt add enough freon. To test for leak you can take it in and pay a fortune, or go to O'rielly and by a dye kit for $30 and check it yourself. It comes with a pressure gauge, dye, and a light pen to check for leaks.

AC is not blowing cold air. How do I add freon?

What you will be looking for (in your engine compartment) looks almost like a large valve stem that you would see on a tire. It will probably have some kind of plastic cap on it.

It shouldn't be that difficult to find. You may want to search for an engine compartment diagram for your make/model/year vehicle.
