Question about Bose Acoustimass 10 Series IV Home Entertainment Speaker System - White

Open Question

I have the Acoustimass10 system connected to a Pioneer SC-25 and when I run the auto calibration the message comes back reverse phase on all five speakers. I rechecked the wiring and it appears to be correct. Any help would be appreciated

SOURCE: error code 10 during sound calibration

Please ensure that you have turned on the Accoustimass module, this can cause communication errors when calibrating. Also check that all connections are correctly plugged in as if one is not quite sat right this may give the error, just try unplugging them and plug them back in.

My treadmill runs for 9 secons and stops and shows E1

Ok. So the first thing to try is to calibrate the speed.
You do this by doing the following:
  • With the SAFETY KEY in place, hold the ELEVATION UP and SPEED DOWN buttons for five seconds. The console will beep twice, "ENG0" will appear in the Distance window, and a number will appear in the Elevation window.
  • Press SELECT until "ENG3" appears; this is for Auto-Calibration.
  • Press START to Auto-Calibrate.
  • The treadmill will calibrate minimum and maximum speed, and minimum and maximum elevation. When Auto-Calibration is complete, the treadmill will reset to User's start screen. This process takes three to five minutes.
Make sure there are no errors. . .and that the speed goes from super slow to super fast and then stops. . .. if it stays slow. . or stays fast. .or error code appears during calibration, there is a problem.
If after a good calibration sequence, if it still does the stopping and E-1 after 10 seconds. ., then you need to (Power off and disconnect treadmill). . .then unplug the speed sensor from the lower power board, blow into the connector on the wire, and add a little contact cleaner spray to the connector on the board.
Recap: If it actually runs. . .but stops after a few seconds. . but the calibration runs and passes fine. .. .more than likely it is a speed sensor misread or a faulty speed sensor.

How do I reverse a three phase electric motor?

Reversing rotation of 3 phase motors:
CAUTION: Before attempting any repair of electrical equipment verify the power is disconnected to the device.
CAUTION: Three phase motors could potentially be controlled by frequency control systems. It is recommended a trained electrician perform repairs to any electrical system. In particular, consult a trained electrician if the system includes a frequency control system.

Most 3 phase motors can reverse rotation simply by swapping any 2 of the 3 phase wires. A typical 3 phase wiring circuit will include a safety ground wire (usually green) and 3 phase wires, often designated A/B/C, or 1/2/3, or color coded to distinguish each. By swapping the terminal connection of any 2 of the three phase wires, for example, 1 & 2 or 2 & 3 or 1 & 3, but leaving the third phase wire unchanged will reverse the rotation of most motors.

I tried installing a set of Def Tech Pro Cinema 600 speakers to my Yamaha RXV667. They recommend two methods. One is to connect the subwoofer through a cable using the LFE port on the receiver. I've done...

I'd go with the second method of connection for this receiver if you want to use automated calibration that requires discrete control of each speaker. I'd expect calibration errors with Method One as you're not just monitoring the sub when you test it; and the L and R fronts would have sub chiming in during the test, too. That would surely confuse the automation.

You (or the receiver) wouldn't be able to adjust the sub independently of the fronts that way.

I'd also be a bit leary of their claim you can set your speakers to Large. With only 3-1/4" drivers I wouldn't expect much in the way of realistic bass-handling or power dissipation.

From the manual...

"We encourage you to experiment with the various settings on your subwoofer, settings on your decoder, and hook-up options as described until you find the best combination for you."

Dial norm +4 on Pioneer vsx-ax4avi-s? Understand is an auto feature but annoying, controls volume level. can it be switched off/

here is a link to your manual:
http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products/archive/VSX-AX4AVi-S/media.html
looks to be an auto calibration the mcacc turned on during the testing and setup phase. you could always put the mcacc in manual mode and go through the settins yourself. Just be aware that the setting you are talking about controls the level of you dialog channel and lowing might cause you to have less ability to hear low dialog.

Cheers!

Have a Pioneer VSX-1018 receiver. When I connect

You speakers are out of phase. Check to see if the polarity is correct on the receiver and the speaker. Positive (red) with positive, negative with negative (black). Also check the impedance of the speaker, it should be located on the back of the speaker measured in ohms. Make sure that your receiver matches the impedance of your speaker. You can find this in the settings of the receiver.

Tire pressure reset will not reset

Labatche822,
The process for resetting your Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) is below.
Good luck, let me know.
Regards.

To reset (calibrate) the system:
1. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
2. Press the GAGE INFO button on the DIC until
TIRE PRESSURE appears on the display.
3. Press and hold the DIC RESET button for about five
seconds. After five seconds, the display will show
TIRE PRESSURE RESET. If TIRE PRESSURE
RESET does not appear on the display after about
five seconds, see your dealer for service. After you
release the DIC RESET button, TIRE PRESSURE
NORMAL will appear on the display.
The system completes the calibration process during
driving. During the first 10 to 25 miles (15 to 40 km) of
driving, the system will not alert you if a tire is high or
low. After 25 to 100 miles (40 to 160 km), the
system will only alert you about pressure differences of
12 psi (85 kPa) or more. After about 100 miles (160 km)
of driving, the system will alert you if one tire is
10 psi (69 kPa) different from the other three tires.

Philips HTS6510 Sound Problem

you seem to be having a "phase cancellation" problem
Are you sure the speakers are connected properly ? one of them might be connected in reverse - the + is in the - slot in one of the speakers which will cause phase cancellation problems, in other words, signals that are coming from both speakers will cancel out each other because one of the speakers is working in reverse phase.
Check wikipedia for phase cancellation.
