Question about Toyota Sewing Machines

Model 2200 EC1 SERIES The top thread Bunches and tangles on the underside of the sewn material. I have checked that the upper thread tensioner is in good order. When I observe the thread in the shuttle area i see that it seems to get caught up. Any suggestions?

Try these suggestions
1.check to see if your needle is bent-place needle on flat surface & see if it rolls good
2.if needle make poping sound when going thru fabric it is blunt
3.check to make sure the bobbin is not warped
4.make sure there no loose thread or lint in bobbin area
5.make sure there are no burrs on bobbin or bobbin case
6.check to make the thread does not come off the thread take-up lever

Having trouble with tension on my Husqvarna Viking E 20

Be sure to RAISE the presser foot BEFORE threading the upper thread. (Remove the upper thread and rethread from the beginning.) Upper thread malfunctions commonly occur if it is not threaded correctly or the thread is not seated in the tension disk properly.

Install a brand new needle if you haven't already done so.

What is the factory tension setting for the Brother LS-2125i sewing machine?

you probably wont find it listed anywhere as it is from experience and changes with different material thickness and needle size
SO how to set tension
thread the machine and adjust the tension until you feel a drag on the thread
now thread the needle and sew a piece of scrap material
if the thread bunches up underneath then increase the thread tension until it sews properly
if the bottom thread is pulled to the top or the thread keeps breaking loosen ti off a bit
when the stitch is being properly formed , both bottom and top threads should meet at the center of the two materials being sewn

My machine bunches tread on the bottom of the fabric when sewing. What am I doing wrong. This machine is new to me.

thread bunching under material is an indication that the needle thread is not at the correct tension
tighten up the tension setting until the result is where the both treads meet at the center of the materials being sewn
practice on pieces of scrap until you get it right

When i run a straight stitch, the top of the fabric looks well sewn; the thread on the bottom of the fabric, however, bunches up-it looks nothing like the top stitch.

Is it really the bobbin thread that is bunching under the fabric, or is it really the top thread that is creating loops and "bird nests" under the fabric???

Rethread your upper thread. BEFORE you thread the upper thread, be sure to RAISE the presser foot. This releases the upper thread tension disks so the thread is firmly seated in the tension disk.

If it continues to be a problem, then the upper tension needs to be tightened. Adjust slightly, then test. Repeat until the upper and lower threads meet in the middle of the fabric.

When i sew my thread keeps pulling and breaking from the needle, seems like there is a lot of pressure on top thread and it bunches up from the underneath bobbin when sewn on material

Most of the time it is caused by the top threading, Could your thread be old, or tangled? Double check your threading by this little trick, put your tension dial on 3, totally rethread, insert a new needle (flat side facing rear). Then with the presser foot up, pull on the top thead and it should pull smoothly, now put the presser foot down, pull again, it should barely move. This usually seats the thread in the tension discs. Hope this helps.

Time janome 3018?

when you say 'bobbin thread bunches' i take it that when you look at the underside of what you have sewn it looks messy. if this is the case and the machine is threaded correctly and the the needle thread is tight enough to bend the needle a little when pulled (with presser foot down) it will most likely be that you need to increase needle tension (maybe to max) when sewing thick fabrics with thicker than normal thread.

if the the needle does not bend a little you may not have the thread in between the tension discs, or there may be thread or lint caught in the tension discs preventing proper tension (try pulling a thin rag through the tension discs to dis-lodge any foreign matter).

JanoneDc3018 thread bunches up .

Are you using heavy thread for the top stitching? If so you will need to tighten the top tension. You would think if it is thicker thread that you would need to loosen the top tension but you have to tighten it to help pull it up through the fabric. If you use heavy thread in the bobbin you would have to loosen the bobbin tension. Check and make sure the thread is seated in the top tension and make sure there is no lint in the tension disc. It is definitely a tension issue. Hope this helps.

Need online manual

If you are having problems with the thread on the underside of the fabric, that is usually the upper tension. Check to make sure that it is threaded correctly. If so, make sure that the thread is inside the tension disc and that there are no pieces of thread caught in the tension. If it is threaded and there are no thread caught up in the tension assembly, adjust your tension dial to a slightly higher number. Do this until you get a good stitch.
