I bought a cricket broadband device for internet servoces and i tryed to hook it up to my ps3 via usb in the front of my ps3 and it dnt work what am i doing wrong?
Ok-here is your problem, the broadband card (any broadband car for that matter) needs to have drivers and software installed to function- And the ps3 does not allow you to install 3rd party software or drivers - The only way you can use a wireless broadband card ona ps3 is to install linux on your system and use your ps3 as a desktop PC, however the ps3's ability to run linux depends on the model and age of your system, newer slim units (from what I have read) do not support the "Other OS" feature of its predicessors , I own a first gen 80gig with reverse compatability, and run linux (its cool) however I havent had any hands on experiance with the newer systems. if you have a home pc you can buy a router (you have to buy one that supports USB cellular broadband devices-so do some research to make sure you get one compatable with your card) and once you have your card configured to the wifi router you can use the ps3 wifi and get online that way- Bummer I know but I went through the same ordeal using an altel huwawei broadband card
