I do not understand what do you want to find under the processor??? Leprechauns???

If you desperately want to clean your computer, never ever use vacuum cleaner, if you want to clean heatsink and fan, exactly remove only and only fan, brush and blow heatsink if you must.

Now, again, as you did put already your computer to pieces:

1. switch off computer, remove power cord from teh socket
2. remove again the wall,
3. remove heatsink and fan, check if processor is correctly installed, replace heatsink and fan,
4. remove and re-insert memory sticks, thes have tendency to burn or get moved during cleaning, check if memory is correctly inserted
5. check power connectors on the motherboard, 24pin as well as 4 pin
6. check power supply itself

If computer after tha procedure still do not start, tehre question arises:
1. did you used vacuum cleaner to clean?
2. did you use static strap...

If your answer is yes/no you fried your processor, memory or motherboard... or all three, check then all three components against known working computer and then replace bit which you fried...

Want to replace processor intel V//V with a newer dup cpre at least but not sure if possible.

I would look at the motherboard specifications and then look it up online about what can or cannot be used with it. They often have a list of processors that can be used, on the makers website. Some even have forums. You can also look up the processor you want and see if it can be fitted to your motherboard. Intel might even be able to say if you give them enough specifications about your product.

Dell XPS 410 turns off and on again like in loop

Get another power supply unit and check to make sure the power button is not sticking. That is how I would handle the matter. John

Xps 410 will not start up 2 beeps

Hi Al,
This is possibly a RAM memory problem. Remove the RAM memory from the motherboard and clean off the connecting pins with an electronic contact cleaner or surgical spirits. Replace them one at a time(if you have more than one dimm installed) and check to see if you still have this error.

Best wishes,

I have a dell xps 410 i replaced the power supply because it wont turn on still have the same problem,i used a dell just shut down one day now it wont do anything just one yellow light on...

Ok to troubleshoot it, connect the PSU to the MotherBoard ONLY, test, you may find that with it connected to the MB only it doesn't work, remove RAM and check, if PSU still No Go then MB is faulty if OK, add devices, DVD, Hard Drive, one at a time untill you find one that stops the PSU, that is ya faulty bit. replace it.
