DON'T WORK! I turn on, and appears: "REFRESH DATABASE" and sits, until no more does the battery..low!

  • YourZEN
    YourZEN Aug 26, 2010

    Hello,
When the RESET doesn't solve the Refresh Database issue, continue with STEP 2 and so on
until the player functions normally again.

    > STEP 1 - Reset the device
    1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds.
    2. Release the Power/Menu button.
    3. Press the Power/Menu button shortly to turn on the player.

    1. and 2. to switch the player OFF, when the player is "froozen"
    3. to normally switching the player ON
When the player "freezes" again after point 3. go to STEP 2

    > STEP 2 - Delete recently loaded files
    1. Connect the device to the PC in MSC mode using force MSC.
    1. Player not connected: Turn device OFF. When the player won't switch off, perform point 1. and 2. of STEP 1.
    2. Slide the hold switch to the direction of the headphone jack so an orange color would show putting the device on Hold.
    3. Press and hold the ( |<< ) button while connecting the device to the PC.
    2. Locate and delete recently added files: explore the player as an external removable disk and delete the files that may cause the database issue
    3. Disconnect the device from the PC.

If this resolves the issue, proceed to STEP 3 - Update to the latest firmware
Otherwise, proceed to STEP 4 - Format the device, update to the latest firmware, and reload the songs to the device.

    > STEP 3 - Update to the latest firmware
Go to next site, for how to update to the latest firmware: http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail...

    > STEP 4 - Format the device, update to the latest firmware, and reload the songs to the device.
    0. With the player connected to your PC, backup data within the player: save the files from the player onto your computer
    1. Format the device, see next link: http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail...
    2. Update to the latest firmware: return to STEP 3
    3. Put the songs back onto the player

Sansa e200 provides a RESET function for unresponsive units. Press and hold the MENU button for 15 seconds, and this should work to regain normal funtionality. Please note: settings and adjustments from the last operation WILL BE LOST. The files however should remain.
