Depending on the quality and size of the inverter, it may be fused internally and / or have reverse polarity protection diode. Best wishes!

My Sukam Inverter is not working, even if the power is on, and its continuously beeping! so how can I direct the power, and so that the switches connected with inverter also works fine?

The first thing I would check is to make sure that the polarity is correct... IE: That you have red connected to positive and black to negative, assuming you're connecting it to a battery that is.

Many inverters will actually self-destruct if the polarity is backwards... But some of the better ones will beep instead.

When i connect my inverter to dc power supply all fuses blow

DC input is polarity sensitive. This means that the positive input to the inverter must connect to the positive (+) side of the battery. Likewise the negative lead must connect to the (-) side of the battery.
An inverter does not work backwards. Attempting to put AC into an inverter will blow fuses at least.

I have a duracell 800 watt invertor which i hooked up backwards to the 12 volt battery. sparks flew and it will not work? help

Any particular reason for hooking it up backwards? most likely something inside is fried and you will prob have to purchase a new unit.

Good luck

My tv went black but i can hear the sound what should i do?

I would suspect the backlight inverter is faulty:

I would try to look on the power supply first for popped capacitors that supply the 24v rail for the backlight inverter.

Having sound is a positive when it comes to repair. This means that only your screen is not lighting.

If you repair the 24v line and check the 5v feed also going to the BN_on (on) the backlight inverter and you still have no picture...you will need a new inverter.

Hope this helps! Please rate

If you overloaded your inverter you may have burned out internal circuitry. It's not hard to exceede 450 watts. I don't think there is any way to repair your inverter that won't cost more than a new one. Have you checked to see if there is any overload protection on this unit I had one of these several years ago and I seem to remember ther being black button on the back that was a reset. Hope this helps. Thanks

I think i may have hooked my cyberpower 400w power inverter up backwards on the car battery. it was only a split second, but now it doesn't seem to work. is this something that i can fix?

Hi!!
This units have fuses, they are located right where the power wires come in and go out. With some luck, all the damage could be a blown fuse.

Plugged it into the recepticle in my2009 trailblazer, and it started smoking. removed it quickly

Hello Dusty,

Sounds like your inverter was already having issues. Otherwise, the power port in your trailblazer is wired backwards (center contact should be positive, barrel or ring should be negative).

Son ran battery to zero after he broke power cord, now won't boot

Couple of things

First is to let it charge with the lid down for a few hours.
If that does not fix it then check that your son did not use the alternate display option FN F5 or FN F6 on the acers I think

If you still have no luck you might want to ask questions of your son before you take it to a repair shop
