Question about Dell Dimension 4600 PC Desktop

1 Answer

I have reset the time on my printer and when I print a document that correct date/time are printed correctly BUT the date at the bottom of a printed page is incorrect. This would be the date that the document was printed. How do I reset that date? Is this a printer issue? I have a RICOH BP20 printer and I recently replaced the print cartridge.

The real date is printed from the computer and the wrong one is the default date from the printer...What you have to do is to get into the settings and correct the date into the printer..Look for the time and date in the main menu ..and select and correct it ..After that restart the printer and the problem will be gone ..This may be an issue resulted from a total reset made or a failure of the internal battery ..
If the dat ewill not be kept set after you correct it ...it means the internal battery need to be changed cause when it is unplugged it will not hold the settings ..

Can't print date on pictures

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

Date/time stamper will not print correctly

mine is doing the same thing. I read that the 3V battery may need to be changed.... so I changed the 3V and all four AA batteries and hit reset and am still experiencing the same as you. Random **** printing when display seems okay. Never same stuff twice. Very frustrating.

The printer apear to be dead!

Buttons and lights on the printer Two buttons and three lights are located on the front of an HP Deskjet printer.
  • The lights tell when the printer is working or when it needs attention.
  • The buttons help control the printer.

When the problem is corrected, press the button. c00123892.jpg Print cartridge light The light blinks when there is a problem with a print cartridge. When the problem is corrected and the top cover is closed, the light will stop blinking. Troubleshooting blinking printer lights Blinking lights Reason c00123895.jpg

All lights are off. The printer is off (asleep).

Press the POWER buttonc00123886.jpg to turn the printer on.

The printer should turn on automatically when a print job is sent to it. c00123898.jpg

The POWER (top) light is on. The printer is idle.

The printer is ready to print a document. c00123900.jpg

The POWER (top) light is blinking. The printer is busy printing.

Allow enough time to print. When a document has many fonts or graphics or uses complex color such as a color photo, it takes longer to begin printing. c00123902.jpg

The PRINT CARTRIDGE (bottom) light is blinking. Possible causes:

  • The front cover is open. Make sure the front cover is completely closed.
  • The print cartridge is missing. Make sure the print cartridge has been installed correctly.
  • The print cartridge is broken or incompatible. Lift the front cover, and wait for the print-cartridge cradle to slide out. Check the part numbers on the print cartridge:

Black: 51645A

Color: C1823D,

If the print cartridges are compatible and correctly installed, they may be defective. Try replacing the print cartridges.

If none of the above suggestions fix the problem, and, if the error message still occurs, it may be a hardware failure. Call the HP Customer Support Center.

you will need to make sure that the printer software is set to align top-top or top-bottom. You will need to set this within the printer dialog set up.
