The green jack from your headset has to be connected at the rear panel of the monitor, just beside the VGA cable. This is for feeding the audio to your headphones. For more details take a look at this picture:

The red (orange) jack from your headset (this one is for the microphone) has to be connected at the back of the pc tower, at the red jack, marked as microphone input. In case you need to extend this jack you may use an extension cable like this. In case you don't need the microphone option (if for example you need just the headphones from the set in order to hear audio, movies e.t.c.) you don't need to connect the microphone jack.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

Does it have a microphone on it? Because I can't seem to get it to sense my voice. It only works if I plug in the annoying headset piece. Is this necessary?

Greetings - The webcam does NOT have a built in microphone. That's why the headset/microphone is provided with the unit.

You could use a different microphone or headset than the one provided, but again, the additional hardware is required for it to work.

I bought a samson se50 headset microphone to go with my GTD Audio wireless system. It has the correct adapter plug to plug in to the transmitter. The plug is a mini XLR plug. The microphone does not...

You need power from the transmitter to power this mic. See your mics specs to determine if it needs "Phantom Power"
Perhaps the transmitter doesn't supply power. Condenser mics may not work. Stay with the dynamic type. IMHO

Trust headset HS2900 suitable for apple macbook?

On the MacBook there is no microphone port, if you look closely, it is not a microphone plug, it is a line in plug. Line in cannot record sounds from a microphone without amplification. What I would recommend doing is purchasing this adapter: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812186035&cm_re=usb_audio-_-12-186-035-_-Product- With this adapter, you plug your headset and mic into it and then it plugs into the USB port on your MacBook. Then you can just unplug it from the USB port when you are done.

My Dynex headset with removable microphone does not work. The earphones are fine, but the microphone does not work.

Hello

Usually on default the microphone is not enabled in windows, so you have to do it manually. This is the steps you have to follow.

Control panel
Sound
Recording(or microphone heading, it may differ)
Enable microphone

Now it should work if it was not enabled in the first place.
If this does not work try plugging in the combo in the back panel of your case. or visa versa.
I hope this can help you. Please rate this.

Best regards

Headset works, microphone does not.

Try to look for the microphone volume in your control panel. Maybe it is just on mute.

My DYNEX microphone wont work

Perhaps you have it connected to the speaker connection? Have you looked at the microphone to ensure there isn't possibly a mute button you have accidentally pressed?

Out of curiosity, how are the others hearing you ask if they can hear you? If you are using the microphone to ask, perhaps they are just yanking your chain?
