Try resetting the phone to it's default settings (Factory Default). To do this, press "Menu" > "Settings" and then press "up" once, you'll see "Restore Factory" or "Factory Default", select it and enter 12345 when you are asked to enter a Code and proceed forward with the on-screen instructions.
If this isn't helpful, let me know the model of your nokia handset so that I can assist you further.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

My sim is requesting me for my sim network pin..i dont know what to do please help me mr adeem.. :(

If your phone is asking for a "Network" pin it means your handset is locked onto a different network to that of your SIM card.
If this is the case, then you need to:
A) Get the handset "Unlocked"
B) Get a SIM card, relevant to the handsets carrier.
If the handset is simply asking for a PIN it may just be your SIM card PIN it requires.
If you didn't set a PIN on your SIM card the usual default pins are:
0000
1111
1234
5555
Unless you have a Wave SIM and that is different for every SIM
If you enter the PIN incorrectly after usually 3 attempts your SIM is blocked and you will need a PUK code to unlock it.
PUK codes can only be given by the SIM cards carrier (Service Provider) this means that you will have to call them and ask for it.
You will need either the SIM Card number (On the front of the SIM) or the SIMS mobile number.

Key Benefits of Using an Unlocked BlackBerry

Thousands of people around the world are using unlocked blackberry due to these several reasons,if you are frequent traveler or just cant bear the outrageous costs of expensive contracts then you should seek unlocking your blackberry...

Eliminate Roaming Fees - Roaming charges can drastically increase your base mobile phone bill every month. These roaming charges are based on either your current cell phone contract or the limits of service areas that your provider offers. Unlocking your mobile phone can eliminate roaming fees by allowing you to change the SIM to lower priced networks or local networks when traveling

Increase Resale Value - When you decide to upgrade to a new phone, it also time to sell your old one. Unlocked mobile phones are easier to sell up to 300% more valuable than a locked one because they are compatible with more networks, which means there will be more potential buyers for your phone.

Use Any SIM on Any GSM Network - With an unlocked mobile phone you can change carriers without buying a new phone. This means you can take advantage of the best service package for your current needs. Then if your needs change, you can change providers.

Save with Local Rates - An unlocked mobile phone allows you to take advantage of cheaper rates from rival networks as well as attain an ability to use local service providers while abroad. This will drastically cut down on your tariffs for text messaging and calls home.

Global Connections - Unlocking your phone may also enable dual, tri or even quad band functionality on your mobile handset. This means that your cell phone will be usable in even more countries around the globe as well as being a more valuable resale item. There is no longer any reason to own more than one cell phone handset.

Dual SIM Adaptors - When your phone is unlocked, there is the possibility of applying a dual SIM adapter, which allows your to have two SIM cards in the same handset. This makes your cell phone a much more versatile tool, for example you can separate work and leisure calls. Switching SIM cards can become as easy as turning your cell phone off and on again. You are in complete control of your mobile phone!

Expanded Service Area - Being free of any provider restrictions allows you to increase your areas of service without roaming charges.

Permanent Blackberry Unlocking - Your blackberry never gets relocked and is unlocked forever.

No Warranty Void Risk - Absolutely no risk of damaging your phone and warranty also doesn't get void.

Flexibility to use 3G and Data Settings - Use all Data and 3G settings as given by your Network provider on your unlocked blackberry

Pls how can i flash my nokia N95

No matter what network your Nokia N95 phone currently runs on, you can unlock it---or "flash" it---to run on any GSM network. You will only be able to use your unlocked Nokia N95 phone on networks that use SIM cards---such as T-Mobile and AT&T---and not on CDMA networks such as Sprint and Verizon, which do not provide SIM cards.

Unlocking the Handset
1
Remove the back cover and the battery from your cell phone. Locate a silver sticker with a bar code on it. Take note of the 15-digit IMEI number printed on it. At this time, also remove the SIM card and write down the numbers printed on the back of it. The SIM card is the small, white data chip in the silver cradle right next to the sticker. You will need these numbers to obtain your Nokia unlock code.
2
Request a Nokia N95 unlock code from your service provider. If they cannot provide you with an unlock code, you can buy one online.
3
Replace the SIM card, battery and cover. Fully charge your handset.
4
Turn on your handset and type "#PW+".
5
Enter the unlock code given from your phone company or website. Make sure you dial the number exactly as it was given to you. If you dial this number incorrectly three times, you will be permanently locked out of your handset.
6
Dial "+1#". At this point, the screen on your Nokia N95 should read "SIM Restriction Off."

Inserting SIM Card
1
Switch your handset off and remove the back cover and battery.
2
Remove the SIM card.
3
Insert the new SIM card into the SIM card slot. Now that the phone has been unlocked, this can be a SIM card from any U.S. service provider that uses SIM cards.
4
Replace the back cover and battery and switch the cell phone on. The screen should now read the name of the new service provider

I need a puk code for my lg gt405 viewty it is a contract phone and i have put a handset lock on it and i forgot my pin and locked it by mistake so please ncould you help me thankyou

Hi the PUK code is the security code for the sim card and not any code to do with the phone, all you need to do to get the PUK code is call your service provider.
your service provider wont charge for giving you the code as the code belongs to you, all you need to tell them is your phone number or if you dont know that then the number printed on the sim card, they will then provide you with the 10digit PUK code for free over the phone.
this will then allow you to access the sim card.

The only place you can get the PUK code from is your service provider as their is no where else that keeps these codes, if you still have the card the sim card was attatched to then it will be written on their but if you no longer have this then the only way your going to get the code is by calling your service provider, they wont charge you for this as the code belongs to you,

you do have another option open to you though, if you dont need that sim card then you can go out and get another sim card and when you get given a new sim card you will get given the unique PUK code it will be written on the card the sim card is attatched to.

let me know if you need further assistance ok.

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks..........

How can i get my PIN unblocked on my samsung gophone?

PIN and PUK are security features provided by the service provider. The default are 12345 and 00000000 (eight zeros). BUT, given wrong thrice or more locks the SIM and renders it useless. The SIM has to be changed by the service provider and to retain the old number you pay a little extra. So, please call up the helpline of your service provider (even if from a friend's phone if your does not connect) and ask them for a new PIN or a new SIM if it is non-functional.

Request a Nokia N73 unlock code from your service provider. If they cannot provide you with an unlock code, you can buy one online.

Replace the SIM card, battery and cover. Fully charge your handset.

Turn on your handset and type "#PW+".(you get P by pressing the * key three times and you get W by pressing the * key four times)

When switch on with sim card the phone sayscontact service provde

Hi there,

This problem sounds like it is to do with your SIM (Service Identifier Module) card, within your mobile phone handset, either this is because you no longer have this card activated, or you have encountered a problem with your contract. In the event that this is a PAYG (prepaid SIM) then just replace the small SIM card and hopefully you are able to use your phone. If on the otherhand you are using a contract SIM card, then you will need to talk to your service provider directly and sort the problem out. However, you could always change your SIM card anyway, and be donee with the matter.

One word of warning on this, you will probably have to tell everyone you know that you have had to change your mobile phone number, as the unique mobile number is attached to the SIM card as apposed to the phone handset. You could always find a cellphone provider that will allow you to keep your existing number, but, as your SIM card sounds like it is no longer active, the chances of you retaining your existing number are slim to minimal at best.

Now I am also an engineeer that keeps all possibilites of error open for investigation, so in this event, it is best to go to http://www.motorola.com and check out the support pages for your phone and see what is said about this; just in case it is a problem with your handset. Better still, any high-street or downtown mobile phone shop will be able to query the matter for you and advise you in person of your next best approach.

I hope this is the fixya for you, and if there is anything that you have to ask or comment on, feel free to do so and I will respond as soon as humanly possible.

Many thanks for using the Fixya service,

Yours sincerely

Oz

Keep saying insert SIM card

You are trying to use a SIM from another Network or Handset but your phone is LOCKED to your old network and/or to a specific SIM card and number: this is why it is asking you for the unlock code to remove the restriction. It you are no longer under contract or obligations (such as minimum total recharge amounts for apre-paid handsets), then you could try to request the unlock code from the original service provider of your handset.
As for asking to insert SIM card, make sure that the SIM is correctly and securely inserted in your handset SIM holder. Also check that the SIM is still functional by inserting it in another handset: SIM card can be permanently and physically disabled if you attempt to enter too many consecutive invalid codes (usually around 10).
Hope it helps and good luck!
