Question about Computers & Internet

I have an HP Pavillion DV6700 laptop that is exhibiting keyboard problems (multiple keys don't work). Until resolved i have adto resort to the 'On-Sreen' keyboard option, in order to use my laptop, which is agonizng to say the least! In looking for resolutions, I have tried several remedies (un-installing/re-installing the drivers, even tried a simple/possible solution of removng and re-installing the battery), none of which worked! Instead,6 more keys have ceased to work? Any suggestions ref successful remedies would be appreciated :)

I noticed that the keys that didn't work were not always the same one's, This started happening about a weekago. The first several times it occured, was only when logging into my user account (password screen). Once past that point, the keys which hadn't worked 'g', 'h',and 'bacspace', worked beyod that point. Yesterday, I noticed the 'key the 'q','w','e','r','u','i','o','p' also don't work?
run Norton 360, Malwarebytes and Paretologic PC Health advisor,I have run complete scans/repairs,none of which addressed the problem. I don't think I would have picked up any undetected corrupt files with the above mentioned programs in operation.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated as I doubt it is a 'sprng' related issue. The keys depress and recover fine. None of the keys have ever had any sticking problems.

Could you please let me know the specific keys which aren't working? First, attach an external keyboard and try it. If there's problem with the external keyboard then, it's internal problem, it's likely that you'll need to repair the motherboard or replace it.

If the external keyboard is ok and working fine then, there's must be some settings issues, hardware issues or circuit problem. Let me know and I'll assist you further, with instructions on how to troubleshoot and find out the exact cause and how to get rid of the problem.
You installed Operating System will also be helpful for me.

Thanks and awaiting.

Ok, thanks for the info, but first try with another external keyboard, it's not possible without knowing the cause. I guess there's circuit problem with your keyboard, which will need to be replaced. Good luck.

Hi. This is already a keyboard problem. might be the springs underneath those key came off. You will be needing a replacement part for the keyboard. Computer manufacturer can do the repair for free if the machine is still under warranty.

Keyboards are cheap- thats what I would do first, just to narrow it down. Get a new keyboard for about 10-15-20 bucks-plug it in, any change?

If it fixes it, throw out your old keyboard. If it DOESN'T fix it, you can return the new keyboard and get your money back. Then you will KNOW it is software in the computer, or maybe a USB/driver.

Hope this helps.

HP Pavillion DV6700 is shittung down

This could be numerous things. It could be an over heating problem, a virus, a power supply failing or something wrong in the power adapter on the motherboard where the power plug plugs into the laptop. If you plug in the laptop and see the battery charge light come on then the problem is most likely an overheating problem or a virus. If the battery charge light comes on then I would recommend taking it to a reputable repair facility to have them diagnose the problem.
