Well, is this a legal cd of XP? or did you pull it from the internet? if it is a original version of xp, please contact Microsoft, they will reactivate it, or sent you a new xp cd.

Your xp has failed to pass windows genuine test.
may be you are using pirated cd.
dont worry.
backup ur data from ur c drive.
re-install windows xp.
set the windows update off.
make sure that windows updte always should be off. so that microsoft genuine check software could not detect ur pirated xp.
remember whenever u visit any microsoft windows website.then windows update is auto-enabled and window start updating... that may detect ur pirated xp.so after visiting any microsoft website... check for setting of windows update to set it off if it is turned on ....

Please sofve this genuine software problem....

When you get this message it means that the licence used to install windows is not genuine.

When this happen you are supposed to call Microsoft to find out why you get the message.

To temporarily get rid of the message you can do a system restore to a date before the message came for the first time.

Want to remove you may be a victim of software counterfeiting

the message is displayed because your version of windows is not genuine. here are some steps to make your windows genuine
1 . start > run > " regedit" (without the quotes of course)

2 . Go to the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WindowsNT\ CurrentVersion\WPAEvents\OOBETimer
…and doubleclick on it.
Then change some of the value data to ANYTHING ELSE…delete some, add some letters, ..just change it! now close out regedit.

3 . Go to start > run > "%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a" (again, don't type the quotes)

4 . The activation screen will come up, click on register over telephone,>next> then click on CHANGE PRODUCT KEY, enter in this key:

JG28K-H9Q7X-BH6W4-3PDCQ-6XBFJ and give update.

(Now automatically window will return back to activate by telephone mode and ask for activation code, just ignore and exit that window it's done)

the only permanent method to remove that message is buying an original version and i do recoment that, than the steps above........

Victim of software Counterfeiting,Problem

To temporarily bypass the problem you can do a system restore to a date before you started having the problem.
If that does not work, boot to safe mode after downloading and installing HijackThis. Start Hijack this software (utility to modify registry values) and scroll down registry entries to the line that says “020 - Winlogon Nofity: Wgalogon - …” select it, and click fix checked.

If you think that your isystem is counterfeit and you had been victim of a scam you should contact the person that sold you the computer, and then contact Microsoft.
See Microsoft Help and Support.

You will have to go to Microsoft.com and relicense your copy of Windows XP. You can purchase a new key and see if that will reset the desktop or wait until the CD arrives to reaload it.
