His is possibly your first step is to contact the manufacturer to see if you have firmware update for your model router. You can do this via the internet or contact by phone., either way will get you to technical support for you router model.
2. Also check to see if your router has been grandfathered but the manufacturer ( it is possible that your model router has no further support.
3. you also have to see if your router has the device you are trying to connect with in the allowance list that is ( is it authorized to connect to the internet )
4. Follow the steps here :
.Log into router. Using either 192.168.0.1 ot 192.168.1.1 in a browser window that is ( internet Explorer or firefox)
2. Verify wireless router name( on the computer) >>> ( on/off) ( router status window)
3.Note router name you are connecting to.
4.. Check the laptop do ipconfig /all to see current IP addresses.
5. Set the laptop up in the router by WEP KEY or MAC address. This set up in the "security tab" in the router. using 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 to access through a browser.
6.Note router name you are connecting to.
7. Move the laptop about 20ft away and try to log on to the internet.
This is for all routers to set up wirelessly.

Every time I try to access my DI 514 screen i get my internet provider DSL configuation screen

I presume you are attempting to access your router by typing the numeric address (e.g., 192.168.1.1) into your browser.
The address you are typing into your browser is apparently the address of your DSL modem, not your wireless router. This address may be subtly different, e.g., 192.168.0.1.
I suggest you pull up the window that shows your computer's network address, its netmask, and its server address. The server address is the one you need to type into your browser.
If this still gets you your DSL modem, it could be that you have configured your router to provide the same range of addresses on its LAN side as your DSL modem provides on your router's WAN side. This is an unworkable configuration. You will need to disconnect the DSL modem from the router so that you talk ONLY to the router, and change its configuration to use a different address range.
It's hard to get more specific without knowing what addresses you are using or how your network is set up. The above is a general overview of what you need to do to solve this problem.

Can't connect to the internet when using DI-514

First check if your modem is properly with router and if your computer is properly connected with the right port in the router. You must configure it to work with your Internet Provider. For Cable company you need to configure the router as Dynamic IP and for DSL users it needs to be configured as PPPoE connection.

Internet via another computer's DSL

Ok so your computer says conencted to wireless network,
Check if the pc is getting a valid ip address follow this Click start>RUN>type CMD>click OK>then type ipconfig you should be getting a 192..x.x.x if you're getting a 169.x.x.x ir means that you're really not connected to your wireless network, if there's a wireless security enable on your network make sure you have the correct key.

I think wat ya need to do is completely set it all up again, right from the start.. I enclose a link for a manual & the other one is for the "Driver". http://www.retrevo.com/s/D-link-DI-514-Routers- review-manual/id/420ci364/t/1-2/ www.opendrivers.com/driver/232575/d-link-di-514- wireless-router-firmware-1.03-free-download.html Your "Provider" will have a different setup and address etc... indeed maybe they will have setup software and logon details on their web site, I suggest ya check that.
