Often the nets and subnets are NOT the same.. ie The Fixed connection often uses 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1, however sometimes the wifi is setup 10.1.1.1, or 10.0.0.1 etc, have you checked this? Esentially tho ya router is an "Acess Point" and ya Lappy etc is ya "Client" the links below has a lot of tutorials to help have a look. http://portforward.com/routers.htm http://portforward.com/guides.htm

A few more thoughts:
1. Have you installed or changed any firewall or security settings?
2. Try resetting the router, turning off the modem for a minute. Then turn them back on and give it another try.
3. Are you sure that your laptop is connected to your router and not your neighbor's? (Look at "Network Connections" in control panel.)
4. If you have another ethernet cable, connect to the router with a cable and then try to reach the internet.
5. If none of this helps, then look under the couch cushions for some cash to buy a new router.
6. Good luck!

Make sure DHCP is turned off on the modem or else you will get ip conflicts. Also make sure it is plugged into the wan port on the router

Go to the control panel and un-install the program that the Comcast cd installed. then:
Shutdown your PC. Unplug the power from the router and the cable modem.
Wait 30 sec. then plug in the power to the cable modem, wait 30 sec. then plug the power to the router. Wait till you have "Internet" light then restart your PC. The PC should pick up an IP address and you should be able to get on-line.
Did Comcast reset you wireless router settings? If so, you may need to set up your SSID and security settings.
Customizing Wireless Settings of the Router
Having default wireless settings on the Linksys router may cause conflict with other Linksys routers within your network range. Linksys suggests changing the SSID (network name) and the Wireless Channel of your router. Also, if it is possible, enable the Wireless Security of your router.
To change the router’s SSID or the wireless network’s name, click here.
To change the router’s channel, click here.
To enable the wireless security on the router, click here.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
