I have had my go gear for 6-8 months and one day i turned it on to upload new songs. I began to look at them, and suddenly noticed that all my songs have disappeared. I can't load anymore songs on it. I have only loaded songs from 2 computers. But it worked on both. I can listen to FM/AM radio but all the other features are not working. I was never able to download photos either.
While I was in class my mp3 ran out of power but when when i turned it on all my songs were deleted and when I connected my mp3 to the computer it showed that all the songs were still in the mp3. So I called customer support but when i went to the website that they told me I tried downloading the upgrade to the mp3 but it wouldn't let me.

Re: Phillips 8 GB Go Gear
First thing I would do is try to do a hard reset which means removing all power sources such as the battery and leaving it sit for an hour. If it still doesn't work from there, there may be bigger problems. Let me know how this first option goes

I would suggest a firware update may solve this problem.
Your music files are not affected by a firware update.
This update is for all size GB vibes.
You can go to this Philips website and download the latest firware and softwear available for your MP3 player SA1VBEO4 Go Gear vibe.

Your GoGear is freezing because there is an error in the operating system and can be fixed by resetting the device. Resetting the GoGear is similar to rebooting your computer. You will not lose any of the data uploaded to the device. To reset the GoGear, press the "Reset" button located on the left of the device. The screen will go blank for a few seconds and then turn back on.
If the GoGear freezes after uploading a file to the device or if one song or sound file freezes the device each time you play it, the file is likely corrupt and needs to be removed from the GoGear. Connect the GoGear to a computer and delete the file from the device.
My Philips SA60XX had a problem with the left side of the head phones, i tried every head sets or speakers and only one side works, what can i do about it??!?!?? I dont want to go to some store and get it fixed for 100 Dollars!
If you clicked "yes" to an Update for your device, then all your songs have been wiped. Firmware Upgrades and Repairs (whether performed knowingly or unknowingly), will delete all songs from your GoGear.
Alternatively, when you have automatic synchronization set up for Windows Media Player, then re-syncing to the device when the songs don't exist on your computer will also cause the GoGear to be wiped. It's a feature of WMP that I don't like.
The Phillips Go Gear is not compatible to Windows Vista, and there is nothing one can download to make it compatible. I contacted Phillips, and they said that there are no plans to update the software so that it works on Vista. Pass this to everyone that is having a similar problem. Contact Phillips on their website, and request that the Phillips Go Gear software be updated to include Windows Vista. If more people raise a stink (especially threatening never to buy Phillips products), maybe something will be done.
