Depending on whether you want the external effects to be on everything or just a single mic input, you connect them to the power amp "insert" or the insert for the mic you want it on.

Looping it out on multiple mics would be tricky, but you could send the units effects into one of the monitor outputs only by selecting a "non-effects" setting in the unit and sending internal effects to one of the monitor outs, and then looping it back into another input to join the mix.

Hi - that sounds great, I'm trying to connect an external EQ to a PMP3000 also. I want it to go across everything, so it sounds like I should use the Power Amp "Insert". Presumably that's for returning the signal to the amp from the EQ unit, but from where should I take the signal that's going in to the EQ unit? I'd want the whole signal to go out to the EQ, and the amp only process the signal that returns from the EQ. Many thanks for any input! :)

NO! The insert jack is both input and output. It is a TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) connector.(three wire).
The TIP of this jack is the OUTPUT of the mixer and the RING is the return from the external device going back into the power amp inputs. You use an INSERT SNAKE which has a TRS plug at one end that splits into TWO TS plugs. One will be labeled TIP and that will go to an input of your EQ and the other TS plug is labelled RING and that plugs into the output of the corresponding channel of the EQ. The TRS end goes to the INSERT jack on the PMP. The insert snake can have pairs of these in a single cable harness. You can also use a similar setup to INSERT effects like compressor into the individual channel signals for microphones.

Can you elaborate a bit more about what you mean by "turning off?" What are you doing up until that point? Does it do it at certain times, etc.?

How to get efx to work

You are aware that there are no built in effects, correct? Are you connecting an off board effects unit and having problems with that? You should be connecting the effects send on this mixer to the input of the effects unit - then the output of the effects unit to the effects return on the mixer. With the effects send control on the appropriate channel turned up, you should see signal hitting the effects unit. You'll need to adjust the effects return on the mixer to hear the effects signal included in your mixer output.

The control for the Effects Loop Mix seems to function like a master volume control. I get no sound in ay channel if the Effects Loop Mix control is in the "EFF" position (right) and sound...

That is the way it is supposed to work... It is a level control to control the level sent to an EXTERNAL effects unit. What external effects unit are you using? Brand and model please. If you proportion more to the effects loop, you want to make sure the EXTERNAL effects unit is on and its gain controls are up. The foot switch input should control the EXTERNAL effects unit when you plug the footswitch into the EXTERNAL unit. The footswitch input on the amp itself has NOTHING to do with the external effect loop, it only affects the amp's own DFX unit.

HELLO, I HAVE A BEHRINGER PMP 3000 MIXER, AND I CANT SEEM TO GET THE FX TO WORK EVEN THOUGH I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS IN MANUAL, IME JUST WONDERING IF THERE IS SOMETHING IME OVERLOOKING? SCINCE I KNOW...

Do the following:

Set each of the FX mix knobs to 12 o'clock (halfway up to start)... I believe they are orange tops for each channel effects are desired for.

Next select the number of effect by rotating the selection knob. The display will flash.

Push DOWN on the selection knob to activate the selected effect number... the display will cease to flash. Note that you can mute the effects with a small button in the effect area and decimal point will come on showing effect, even though selected, is disabled. That small button can toggle the effects on and off.

Next, adjust the "FX to main knob" above the MAIN fader... set it to 12 o'clock to start with.
Note that there are two others that send the resultant same effect to stage monitors if used...

Now ADVANCE the FX (orange) fader to increase the input to the FX. You should start to hear the effects... SOME of the effects are subtle, so maybe choose a long delay one to get the hang of it... choose #3 for example...

The manual is NOT too clear how to use the effects and is confusing... they assume you have knowledge common to mixers... and new users don't.

I would recommend watching several YouTube videos about mixer setup... there are some good ones there !!! Most mixers have a lot in common and once you learn what is there, you can work most any of them... some of the new digital ones are a bit more confusing.

The loop and the manual tone store functionality !

Usually the loop in is used with an EXTERNAL effects module where the audio signal is "looped" out through the external effect module and then back to the power amp to drive the speaker in the cabinet. The LOOP IN jack would receive signal from the EFFECTS module OUT jack.

The source to go TO the effects module INPUT may come from a jack such as preamp out, or sometimes the same loop jack if it usess the TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) connection method.

If you do not have an external effects module, all this is a moot point in your case.

The external effects when used would require an effect processor with left and right channels. You need four cables total for the effects... the two channels out to the effect unit and two cables to bring it back to the power amps.

Remember to use your pan controls if you want certain inputs to go more to either the left or right outputs.

Yes, the fan is temperature controlled. You have to drive it a bit before it runs, and then it is kind of throttled versus temperature.

Faulty effects behringer djx700

The effects on the PMP powered mixers flash UNTIL you push in on the selector knob. This way you can dial in the next effect number and then push in later to activate when you want it... Could yours possibly be the same technique?
