Hello are theres any way i can install my tascam us 144 without the disc

That's going to depend. What you really need are the drivers. If it's not detecting them automatically, try going here: and downloading the drivers, although it does not seem they have any drivers available for any Windows versions beyond XP

Laptop overheating/Bad ventilation design.

I just fixed this with my daughter's laptop Acer Aspire 7720. The prolem was with lint covering inner side (facing cooling fan outlet). To fix:
- open the big cover on the bottom for the memory slots - well it covers everything: processor(s), memory clots etc.
4 screws, the cover also held by snapping little plastic tabs, do not be afraid to open but be rather carefull, do not just yank it open, you will see the fan facing back of the laptop in the corner, it suppose to blow through the heat sink.
- remove the fan, 3 screws, the screws are very little so be careful, you will see the inner side of the sink more likely coverd with lint, dust etc.
- carefully remove using tweezers and blow using canned compress air dust remover.
- assemble back in reversed order.

without removing the fan it is not really clear what it is I almost accidentaly saw it...

do not be afraid to do so you just need small screw driver. magnetic screw driver helps to handle the screws but be carefull with it as some components may be sensitive to magnetic field...

this did the trick for me I hope it works for you. please spread the word as I saw many posts about it in forums...

Defective usb

well from my experience it could be a number of things.
Bad USB device (Curcuit board)
Bad Memory
Bad Capacitors
Bad Motherboard
Bad Drivers
Bad Usb Port

You have to eliminate each and every cause, theres is no real cure, in electronic without a curciut probe to make sure.

Voltage can go bad, Solders can break Capacitor can blow up, diodes can go bad sending the wrong voltage. Its would be very hard to pinpoint the problem.

Without more detail or error log i cannot tell you much, but i would try everything i can to eliminate all usual suspects like trying different usb devices if A DEVICE works and some doesnt well it could be the device as USB devices can go bad(interface) the curcuit board of the device could fail, they tend to get REALLY hot when used alot. i have some usb enclosure on my system and i have found that some usb device do fail from time to time, they just refused to be recognized by the computer i would remover the HD from it and replace the usb interface and it works.

so what im trying to say its "really DIFFICULT" to pinpoint the problem. without doing a trail and error run with the hardware you have, eliminate the small suspect first like trying the device on another computer, if you have the same product and it work in the same port and not work on another computer then you have a suspect, the device is failing.

process of elimination.

Good luck being an IT takes alot of patient. Alot of work.

as for future references theres not much you can do when a product "just fail" a number of thing could have happened. use the process and think about how it could have happened. power spike, wear and tear, abuse, any number of things.

i could write a book, but unfortunally i dont have the patient for it.

I bought a computer with vista and now I can't hook up my cannon printer or scanner.

The bad news first... Vista hates and will not drive cannon products.
The other bad news... Cannon went out of the printer business and never wrote a vista driver.
Now some more bad news... vista is not really as fully developed as the XP os and don't really know if it will ever be, it's pretty, but it's one problem after another.
The solution is either buy new printer/scanner or revert Ur system to an XP os. This is the sort if issue that windows went back to selling and supporting XP.
This is a very traveled road!
