99% of the time the lower spray arm falls off at some time during one of the cycles. The spray arm doesn't seem to lock it? It just sits there.

You may have stripped the threads on the spray arm or spray arm support. I believe the threads are reverse-threaded and since they are plastic, can easily be stripped if turned in the wrong direction. This has happened to me before. The solution is to replace the lower wash arm and spray arm support. You can find the parts at repairclinic.com. Just type in you model number and look for item numbers 830883 (spray arm support) and 9040141 (lower wash arm). You may also want to check out searspartsdirect.com as well. The parts will be located under the "Lower Washarm and Strainer Parts" section. The two sites do offer comparable pricing. Post back if you need further assistance. I hope this helps you.

Kenmore ultra wash III portable dishwasher. Model #1765991. Lower wash arm came off. How do I re-attach?

Hello. The lower spray arm screws down onto the center, round, plastic part (spinner) that has threads on the center portion. It's very loose and spins easily because it uses the water spray to drive it. At the top of the threads, there will be a flat piece of plastic. Set the spray arm down onto the threads. Hold the flat plastic area that sticks out above the arm with pliers. Spin the spray arm counter-clockwise while holding the spinner. It will thread itself down about a turn or so. Snug firmly--DON'T OVER-TIGHTEN the spray arm onto the spinner. Remember, it only uses water pressure to spin so it doesn't have to be "gorilla tight"! I hope this helps you!

I removed the lower spray arm and cleaned out a lot of stuff. I noticed when I screwed the sprayer arm back on medium tightness, then the arm does not move freely. Any ideas? thanks

I just looked up your kenmore dishwasher on repairclinic.com. They give free repair help that is model number specific. You may have bent the arm assembly or the retainer is still too tight. Could be it's simply worn. The replacement is about $32. Check out the self help on this site and enter your model number. Good luck.

Want to remove the spray arm and clean the filter

Hi,

Below is a link showing how to clean out the sump area below the spray arms. If you want to clean the top filter when taking it apart, vinegar works to dissolve a lot of the deposits.

Reattaching sprayer arm?

This is a backward (left hand) thread, when you put the spray arm back on to the nut turn the nut to the left.

If you need more information this link shows how to clean out the sump (which you do not necessarily need) but it also has a picture of how the lower spray arm pieces fit that might be helpful.

Gritty film left on almost all dishes, rinse aid level seems to always remain at full, but apparently not rinsing well.

The problem is hard water. There is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. It filters the water before it enters your dishwasher. It works amazing and has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look after the first load. It is also very affordable (like 70 bucks). Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com to find out more info.

Du1145xtpq top spray, and upper spray arm don't

sounds like the chopper is plugged or broken. remove the lower spray arm by holding tab with a set of plyers and turn spray arm counter clockwise. then where the middle spray arm attaches at the back of tub remove screw. turn the housing on pump to the right side of the machine( its easier to pull top rack out a bit so that whole housing can move) it will turn a little bit to be released from top of pump. then take out the torx screws that hold the housing and filter on. in the sump there will be one or two more smaller torx screws remove those and remove coverings to the chopper. check to see if the mesh is plugged with food and other things. clean. also check to see if blade turn with the motor impeller. if not then the chopper needs to be replaced. good luck

It runs but nothing gets clean maytag dishwasher

With nothing getting clean, the first thing to do is clean the filter and also underneath it. You will need to remove several screws and the lower spray arm to do the cleaning. Watch out for broken glass! Rinse out the filter as best possible.
Look carefully at the impeller to make sure it spins freely and is not damaged. While you are down there, look for any problems (brakes/damage) with the heating element.
Reassemble the filter and spray arm. Test with a load of dishes.
If problems continue, but the spray arms appear to be spinning well, the problem is most likely a failed heating element. Replacing it should make thing work much better.
Please get back to me with what you find. Good Luck!

Top spray nozel not moving water on my kenmore dishwasher

pump is more than likely clogged

in the dishwasher you will see you lower spray arm. take it off. now going up the back is the supply tube. you need to pop it off of thed top then the back and turn it clockwise to get it off the motor. after you do that you will see 4 torx screws. take all 4 out and you will be able to remove the fine filter. thats the normally grey piece with all the slots. after you remove the filter you will see two more torx screws. remove them they are for 2 seperate pieces one is the foreigh food seperator and the other is the chopper cover. remove both of them and clean the whole thing out. as yiou are puytting it back together. let me know if you get stuck

Upper sray arm does not turn

Take the bottom spray arm off and take out the screen etc. When these are removed it will expose the volute cover. The volute cover is what the lower spray arm attaches to, there will be a few screws that hold it on, when the screws are removed it will lift off. Under it you will find a check ball, it should move freely, it is most likely stuck in place, if it is free it and clean it and the track it rolls in. re-assemble and it should work. hope this helps

CHECK THE SPRAY ARM HOLES,ARE THEY CLOGGED ??IF THERE NOT YOU MAY NEED THE PUMP REPLACED (NO PRESSURE).........BY THE WAY THE POWER DRIVE UNIT IS NOW REFERED TO AS A > MOTOR/PUMP WHICH IS NOT INCLUDING THE PUMP.IT'S THERE WAY OF ADDING CONFUSION WHEN WE ORDER PARTS. 1ST LOOK FOR CLOGGED SPRAY ARMS. LEAVE A RATING !!

KitchenAid Model #KUDIO1ILBL6 Dishwasher has stopped working. The buttons on the front won't start the machine. For the last few months the cycles seemed to take longer than normal but we didn't worry about it. Three weeks ago, it just stopped working. The buttons on the front don't light up and do nothing when pushed. The only button that works is the CANCEL, and then it just drains what is in the washer. We have disconnected the breaker for awhile and it didn't make any difference. We are getting power just fine. I found the sequence to use which made most of the lights come on, then it would blink back and forth between the NORMAL and the RINSE ONLY buttons. The washer would 'sound' like it was working but it only lasted for two minutes, and then back to nothing again. I have called KitchenAid directly and was definately NOT impressed, and I also talked to two different people on their chat line, and they couldn't tell me anymore than I already knew. How do I know if it is the Front Panel that needs to be replaced or if its the Electronic Control box? Everything looks fine,,, no water, dust, dirt, corrosion, its all very clean inside the door panel. All the wiring and connections looks great. The parts are very expensive so I am wondering if its even worth messing with at this point. I can't afford a repairman right now, and really can't afford the parts. I would appreciate any suggestions as to fixing this dishwasher. Thanks in advance.
