Make sure your drain hose drains above your washer cabinet.

My machine keeps filling and draining. I've had

Hi.

If the machine keeps filling and draining, then there is overflow detected. Rather than going for the control board you should have checked inlet, drain system and pressure switch.

Check the drain hose height setting. If hose is not well placed you get water back inside the tub. Do a test with drain hose down in a bucket. Check the drain pump filter. Access filter housing and remove blockage if any. If front load machines he pump filter is accessed using a panel located at the bottom in front side of the appliance. With top loader you access the pump from underneath or from the back.

Check if the inlet valve or the hose is allowing water inside the appliance because of an internal leak. This will result in overflow being detected.

Check the pressure switch. This is the device that detects water level.
The pressure switch is near to the control panel . It is a round shaped plastic part that is connected to wires and to a long thin rubber hose going inside the tub. Clean the hose or replace the pressure switch.

Regards.

New Hotpoint washer purchased Nov.2010.....Problem 1. Fills, agitates and "drains" NO SPINNING this cycle. #2. Rinse fills with ONLY ABOUT 6-7 gallons of water, agitates about 10-15 seconds then...

may have a bad pressure fill switch and thats the reason not filling all the way have you tried on different load sizes... if this is a top load unit need to check the fill hose that goes from side of tub to pressure switch in console make sure has no cracks or kinks in it... what happens is water fills tub and then pressure from tub water goes up clear plastic hose to pressure switch to tell it to advance to next cycle... may be your culprit. and causing other problems... as far as clothes tearing beware hotpoint had a issue with there tubs coming loose the nut that holds down tub will back off causing exess movement and will allow clothes to get under unit... this unit should be still under mfd warranty... call g.e and get a servicer out there to look at it.. at worst you may have to pay a service charge but parts should be covered along with labor.... good luck pleae vote./...
servicer for 18 yrs heating /air / and all major appliances g.e authorized and lg. authorized for 8 years

THE WATER KEEPS RUNNING AND NOT FILLING UP

That means it is running out somewhere. The outlet hose is probably too low down.

Washing machine never fills. The water keeps flowing and goes right down the drain... So it just stays stuck on the fill cycle... what do I do to fix it?

Have you checked the locatio of the drain hose?

Sounds like the drain hose is lower than the top of the tub and the water is running thru the pump and out the drain hose (water seeking its own level).

Washer keeps filling up with water and it will not stop

the main drain hose may be stuck to far down inside the drain tube.if the machine is not over flowing and flooding your plaace.then pull the drain hose up to the level of the control head.with the machine off,you should here water running out once that has stopped restart your washer put keep the hose up and it should stop filling when it gets full.

The water is entering the washer, but is not

Either the drain hose is too far into the drain or drain hose is too tight in the drain . Make sure the drain hose is NOT taped to the drain (to keep the drain pipe from overflowing ) All of these will cause a syphon problem , where water will be "pulled out" of the machine by your sewer line , as water is filling your machine for wash (usually rinse cycle).

Maytag legacy series tub wont fill

Your drain hose is too low or there is no air gap where the hose enters the drain line.
This causes the water to siphon out as it fills.

My washing machine is stuck on filling up with water it wont wash

If it keeps filling and overflows you need to check the water level switch and hose. If it keeps filling but doesn't leak out the you drain hose is too low or too far down the drain.

You have a siphon condition. The water is siphoning out as it fills.
Make sure you only have about 6 inches of the drain hose stuck into the house drain and make sure there is an air gap where the hose goes into the pipe so air can get into pipe. If you have the drain sealed to keep water from backing out of it, you will need to get the pipes cleaned for the washer to work properly.
The pressure of the water going through the pump during siphon is not enough to turn it on the machine.
Post back if you need more help.

Water keeps going and going and going!

the water is draining back to the ocean. The drain hose was not emptied properly from its last use. Put the machine in spin cycle (about 5 minutes) only to spin out the water from the outer tub completely and retry washer. If still problem, then visual check drain hose that it still has a "rising" section higher in altitude than the water level of inner tub (when working properly) before it makes a U-turn downward to send back to the ocean. You can also test the drain hose by putting machine in fill mode and crimping off the hose (fold hose over) to simulate a good drain hose. At this test, you should not "feel" water running through the hose if successfully crimped.
