Question about BenQ FP731 17" LCD Monitor

2 Answers

I have a dark blue rectangle on my 26" monitor desktop. Not very pc savy, so I fear pushing any of the buttons on the right side to get rid of it. Thoughts?

Make and Modle number will help so we do some research on it.
It looks like you have turn on the PIP (Picture-In-Picture) function.

It would help if you explained the size, location, properties, and how the blue rectangle came about?
Did you select, install, try to move, or execute something?

If you right mouse click on the rectangle, does it tell you anything?
If you hit <ctrl><alt><del> at the same time, you will bring up the Task Manager, and can see what applications are running.
If you are using Fixya, then there should be an instance of your Web Browser running, but if anything else is running you should be able to tell.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My monitor is a sleep and wont wake up

Hi Mellissa,
I have the same problem at times.
At the top right hand side of your keyborad there may be a half moon button.(THIS IS A SLEEP MODE BUTTON)
Push that button, wait for your computer power light to turn from blue to yellow.
Then lightly touch the power button on your PC, wait a few then tis should fix your issue, I hope.

My screen went completly dark and when i took it to a repair place they said it was a bad mother board, thing is the lap to cuts on just fine but the screen is completly blank! HELP PLEASE

Try this, it may help.
There should be a Blue lettered function button on the lower left hand side of the keyboard (hard to see unless you are in a well lit room) .
Along the top row of keys, F1 through F12 there will be an equally hard to see blue graphic symbol depicting a laptop monitor and something that is supposed to represent a separate desktop monitor.
WHILE THE MACHINE IS UP AND RUNNING HOLD DOWN THE FUNCTION KEY AND PUSH THAT "MONITOR" KEY. THE SCREEN MAY POSSIBLY COME ALIVE. This one has stumped the experts before.
Worth a try.
Hope this helps,
Best, Mark

How can we connect two moniters to one cpu

To have and use 2 monitors at the same time, you need a video card with a dual VGA outputs.

To use 1 monitor at the time you can buy a VGA switcher, to switch between the 2 monitors.

Corrupted Desktop?

Right click on your desktop>Properties>Settings and peruse your resolution settings and monitor settings. Also most monitors have manual display controls. Without knowing all of the specific hardware that you have I can at least point you to the area where you can change these parameters. Repost if you see more options that I can help you with, respectfully, Steve Medley

Laptop screen dark

Most laptops have a function key that allows you to use special color coded operations. Usually these are in blue on the keyboard. Look for on that shows a picture of two monitors side by side. One will have a sun in it. Try pressing and holding the function key and then tapping this two monitor key. This option is suppose to allow you to activate a second monitor or a projector for presentations.
