They should work together. Are you sure you have it seated properly? Are you getting any beeps?? Using correct memory modules???

This mainboard des not support Core 2 Duo, only P4, celeron and dual core pentium-D, mainboard page spec.:http://www.epox.com/USA/product.asp?ID=EP-5P945-3

one more thing, a problem with the microcode means that the bios do not support the cpu, eather update the bios or replace cpu
