What ever color the line is you need to replace that photoconductor unit. They can be ordered from a Ricoh dealer and come with instructions for installing.

HP LaserJet 1020 Printer Black leaving a black line on the left side of paper. What is causing this

Lines down the page can be caused by a few different things. The most common are the toner cartridge having a defect, or the fuser being worn out. The quickest way to figure out which one is to do a "half print" test. You need to start a print job, then open the toner cover when about half the page has been printed. Check and see if the line is on the page. If it is, then the toner cartridge is to blame. If it isn't, then the fuser will be the problem. (not worth replacing the fuser on this unit)

Be careful of the toner on the page with this test...it will not be attached to the paper and will rub off easily.

Hope this was helpful

New toner prints very light. No setting changes on printer.

I had a similar problem, it turned out to be a cheap toner cartridge. Replaced it with an HP cartridge and have had any problem since.

HP CP1215 prints a line of black dots down the centre of page. Happens with all settings on high quality paper. Same with normal paper.

Perform a half paper path test. Put the paper in the manual feed tray, print a test page, when half of paper is pulled in the printer open toner door so the printer stops. remove the toner and check print is the issue there you have trouble with your toner cartridge. Otherwise there is an issue with fuser. Mostly I think you have an issue with tonercartridge, try take it out and shake gentle

Thought I would ask you, since u have answered Ricoh CL3500N

According to the maintenance manual, broken lines are caused by the "dithering" setting. Also there is an in depth color calibration process you can execute. Have you checked the PCU unit?

Here is the maintenance manual:

I am getting a faint line all down the page

Most likely you have a defective black toner cartridge. Open the front shutter on the black toner and look at the drum. If you see the drum has toner on it corresponding to the line down the page, you found the problem. If you can't see anything on the drum try printing a page and then interrupting the printout while the page is still in the printer. If you see the line on the page before it goes through the fuser, (the last roller thing on the top of the printer) then it still is the toner cartridge. If it occurs only after the fuser then it, the fuser, is at fault.

C900 Colur print problems

Print a self made test page in word, a bar of bright yellow, bright cyan, bright magenta (almost pink) and black.

You might find one is completly missing, if so its a faulty toner or maybe the pull strip did not rip out correclty.
