is it a window unit? how old is it? digital readout ?or is it central air with the condensor outside .if its a window unit most likley the main circuit board is out the contactor /relay is on the board /if its central air turn off circuit breaker first go out side to condensor take off the pannel an look inside /it will be a rectangle brown part. almost all wires hook up their red /black wires

This does not sound Its a window unit.. digtal readout... about 6 years old...
Samsung model AW1480A... paid over $400, so if i can get it fixed for less than that, then ill do that rather than spend another $400 for a new one.. works fine... quiet... good cold air...and in good condition.

My magic chef model ctn1911gew is not working properly makes a clicking sound and is not cold at all and fan on bottom is not running. please help

Are we talking about the fan near the compressor? It is important to know if the compressor itself is running. If there is a loose connection to the compressor via the start/over load relay (normally attaches directly onto the compressor), or if the start/over load itself is bad the compressor will not run. It will click trying to turn on untill the over load gets hot Check to see if your compressor is really hot. Could be bad start/over load relay or bad compressor. Try unplugging your frig for say 30 min then, with your hand on top of a cool compressor, plug the frig back in and see if compressor smoothly vibrates for at least 5 min without becoming very hot or shutting off even though fan continues to run. The fact your fan is not running could itself be the problem. It is needed to keep the freon, and the compressor cooled.

When turn off. makes a humming sound. compressor seems to be running.

Have same issue with 3 year old Frigidaire dehumidifier purchased in 2012. Must unplug to stop compressor running with power switch turned off. Unit gets hot and smells. Unplugging creates arcs at outlet since unit is pulling a lot of power. Plugging back in after some hours will make it appear to run normally and again remove moisture but it will not shut off when the fan goes off (humidistat bad?) and the set-point is reached. Cannot leave plugged in due to safetty/fire/overheating concern. Have not found answer on this forum or any other so far.

Amana ACD125R compressor will not turn off without unplugging

If it's a mechanical thermostat, then it's electrical contact points must be closed for some reason. If the thermostat is electronic, then the logic board may be fried. Either way you would have to replace the thermostat.

Air compresor Craftsman 921.153101 it spound like is one but it wont run at all. It sounds like the motor is stuck

if its belt driven ,unplug it(safety first)remove the belt and try to turn the pump by hand.if the pump turn plug it back without the belt. and try it .if the motor doesnt run.check the contacts on your pressure switch.if they are ok and try again.if not you need a new motor.if the motor ,the pressure switch contacts, and the pump are fine.put the belt back back on bleed your tank to zero with an air gun and try to run it.if it work well till it cuts of check if your bleeder release might have pressure stuck in your pump.the compressor needs to release pressure for a soft start.hope this help!

We have a sandwich makeline True model TSSU-72-30m-8. It sounds like the compressor is making a low rumbling noise and the fan is not turning. This started happening when I had unplugged the unit to move...

If you are relating to the fan that is with the compressor, DO NOT RUN UNIT WITHOUT THIS FAN RUNNING. You can overheat the compressor and kill it. Some of these units use small plugs on the fan wires and it could have been pulled loose when the unit was moved. If you find the plug, be sure it is plugged in physically. Don't trust it just because it looks like it is plugged in. It may not be making a good connection.

Fridge door left open all day.. now its not coming on?

The compressor overheated. Unplug the Ref for 20-30 min. to let the compressor cool. Remover the back cover so you can see the compressor, this will help it cool off. A window fan set to blow on the compressor will help.

When the compressor is cool enough to touch plug it back in. It may start and run just fine or if it just clicks and does not run, replace the compressor relay.

Admiral LTF2112ARW cooling problems

First I would make sure the compressor is running.

Unplug the Ref. for about 15-20 min, plug it back in and listen for the compressor to start. You will have to be behind the Ref to tell the difference between the compressor fan and the compressor. If the compressor clicks and doesn't run then the relay on the compressor should be replaced. If it runs then it is probably low on coolant.

Side by side not cold

compressor overheated or stuck. also check starter relay...maybe broke.
if ever thing is alright,

let it stand for about 4 hours unplugged to cool the compressor.

plug it after 4 hours and if the compressor would still run for 10 seconds, then you have a faulty compressor.

tnx 4 using fixya,
