Running the dryer with normal settings. Dryer runs, tub spins, but NO HEAT. Error code popping up after a couple of minutes is "Ad". Any ideas on what the issue might be?

Typically error code AD indicates that the Auto Dry option has been selected. Typically when using no heat in any Auto Dry cycle will result in long drying times and/or wet loads at the end of cycle. I would suggest selecting another option or resetting your dryer. You may either unplug it or flip the household breaker off for approximately ten minutes. Turn your dryer on then select a normal cycle. Your appliance should resume normal operations. If this problem persists, your dryer may possibly have a faulty heating element, blower assembly or a communication problem with the control panel. This is not a normal DIY job. You may want to connect with a local servicer to determine the exact diagnosis. I hope this helps explain the error code you are receiving.

it means auto dry it will check the temp of the clothes so if they dryer quicker then 40-45 minutes it will shut off earlier instead of running the full 40-45 minutes. In the manual it says AD is the adjusting time according to moisture level for those who keep drying but display this it is normal for those who display and size to dry is not normal if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to help others in similar situations Thanks Rick

AD is a indication of board problems.I would unplug the unit for 20 minutes to see if unit will reset

you have a problem with the heat you can't just say it's the element or thermistor you have to unplug it,take it apart and get in there with a meter and check all the t-stats,element thermistor,if they check good you could have a bad computer board but hopefully it will be the element but if you just bought it the dryer is still under warranty for the first year so either call whoever you bought it from or the 800 number off of the machine

Check your breakers. Mine was doing the same thing, all of the 120v parts of the machine were working. (blower/drum motor/ lights) However the element wasn't coming on. Went to the breaker and found that one side of the 2 pole breaker was tripped. Turned both off and back on. Heater started working again.

When you set the dryer on settings such as normal or permanent press, it engages the various sensors that help the dryer to make the most efficient use of energy. Moisture sensor, heat sensor etc. (THAT IS WHAT TURNS ON YOUR AD SETTING) Normally it selects a time based on factory settings that it believes your load should be dried by. Say 50 minutes at Normal (high heat, normal) Every so often during the cycle, the machine will check the humidity sensor and the other sensors and try to see if the dryer is still on schedule. Sometimes it will determine that more time is needed, occasionally less time. While it calculates, it displays the Ad meaning that the machine is on auto dry. TO TURN OFF AUTO DRY, set it to a time setting instead of a DESCRIPTION setting.

I HAVE A FRIGIDAIRE AFFINITY DRYER (AEQ6000CE32). WHENEVER I PUT THE CLOTHES IN IT JUST SPINS FOR 10 TO 15 MINUTES AND SHUTS OFF BEFORE THE ALLOTTED TIME. THERE IS NO HEAT IN THE DRYER. ANY SLOUTIONS?
