Neptune washer front door seal has black build up

Try pouring a cup full of distilled white vinegar into the soap dispenser drawer while it is filling up on a hot wash. Don't put any washing in, just let the machine go through the full cycle. Repeat if necessary.

You may be able to scrub lightly affected areas of the door seal with a scourer or old toothbrush etc. and something like Jiff. To be on the safe side you should wear goggles and a mask when dealing with black mold.

It may be worth trying a black mold remover available from supermarkets but read the instructions to make sure it is safe to use on rubber if intending to use it on the door seal. If badly affected - the only way to get rid of it - is to replace the door seal.

RUBBER LINER COLLECTING MOLD

I have been struggling with the same issue for a long time. Regular bleach and mold-killing products did not work. But I just tried Clorox "Washing Machine Cleaner" and was amazed. I scraped off the loose mold from the rubber gasket and then painted on the product, which is thicker than bleach. After about 20 min. I scrubbed it down with water and painted a second coat on the tough areas. No more mold. I also ran some through the machine per the instructions for good measure and ran another rinse cycle. I am in no way connected to Clorox, but I am so happy to be rid of this problem. Good luck. <!-- from fixya rte -->

I can't see it but my maytag neptune has moldly smell. How do I get rid of it?

Maytag's solution was to run an empty load using hot water and a cup of bleach instead of soap. According to them you are supposed to do this quite often. If the rubber ring that seals the door gets mold on it you are supposed to use a water/bleach solution and wipe it down with a rag.

How do I get rid of mold on the seal ?

Bleach and water solution will get rid of the mold but will not deter future buildup. To prevent future growth of mold leave door open to dry out. Mold likes to grow in damp dark places. Hope this helps

Black mold on washer door seal

this is a very common problem with the neptune washers.
use a javex and hot water solution and scrub the rubber boot.
you should also do an acid wash. (hot wash with bleach, and no clothes) if there is mold on the boot it is inside the washer as well.

There is a way to prevent this. when the washer is not in use, hang a small towl on the washer door, and do not close the door.
this will allow for air movement in the washer

Maytag front loader washing machine. Mould

How old is the washer? Did you try straight bleach on a towel and placed over the "mold" spot for about 5 minutes, be sure to wear gloves. Then scrub with a small brush being careful not to splatter bleach on yourself and rinse well. May need to replace the seal. I always leave the door cracked open after every use to "dry" out the inside and the boot. I also leave the drawer pulled out when not in use for that area to dry out as well. I have never had mold on the door seal of my Neptune washers, only the water holes above the dispenser drawer.

When the door lock fails, there is a part on the electronic control board that fails (resistor burns up). Both will have to be replaced.
